I enjoy TW as Clark. But, I could never picture him as Supes. And it is not because of his acting. But, watching last night's episode "Obsession". I saw him in a scene that changed my mind. Near the end when he is talking to his mom. They showed him towering over her and for some reason he looked older and more in the Supes pose.

I'd love to see Welling as live-action Supes. I honestly think he's the best possible choice for the role at this point, and I know he'd have a good chance of attracting people to the movie that otherwise might not be interested.

With the Superman film taking as long as it is to get made, it's entirely possible that he could be finished with Smallville in time.

You mean you don't want Ashton Kutcher to play Clark?

Blasphemy.

I think that the WB would be smart to let SMALLVILLE run its course before they make another live-action Superman movie. Chances are the WB will pull the plug on it after five or six years anyway. All the kids will be graduating from high school by that point anyway, right?

Either way, it'd be good to carry on the Superman series with a movie that has no direct relation to SMALLVILLE, but involves a few of the same actors. As far as I see it, this is Tom Welling's role to lose; the only other guy out there I really like in the role is Paul Gross - but that's about 10 years too late for him.

It would be very cool if Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum returned for their roles in a Superman movie. Tom Welling maybe is not a great actor, but he is good. Michael Rosenbaum is an amazing actor and deserves to return as Lex Luthor. I wouldn't mind seeing Kristin Kreuk as Lois just because I am in love with her

Oh yes, please keep Michael Rosenbaum around for Lex, whether it's in the SMALLVILLE or an entirely new continuity. He's my fave on the show - in fact, the dynamic between he and his father is what really keeps me interested, though the rest ain't bad, either.

I could pass on Kristen Kreuk, though. She's all good, but not entirely memorable; I'd rather see a new actress take on Lois in future movies. She's Lana. :)

And...Adam West as Perry White.

:D

I'd love for the new Superman movies to include the cast of Smallville. That makes great sense to me. They'd just need to find someone to play Lois and they're practically set.

I really had a strange feeling since the success of Smallville that they were going to segue the series into Superman. It's the perfect marketing ploy. Right now, Tom has said in interviews, that he is not playing Superman but Clark Kent and that he hopes the series goes on for another three to four years. He has no interest in playing the character in college, because it's been done. So that is a major factor. Although in the Smallville universe, would it be so bad for Clark to skip college and go straight to work for the Daily Planet. I think he might change his mind if producers let him know that if he does at least one year of Clark in college on the show, he pretty much has the part of Supes in the movies.

Another thing, Clark was a Freshman (I assume) at the beginning of the series. Which means he has about one more year left in high school. I don't think WB will hold out on the SUperman film for that long unless that have something planned for Smallville on on the big screen.

I thought that Smallville was only suppossed to last four years, and end when Clark Kent graduates high school.

Yeah, but who thought the show would be a success and possibly last more than 4 years?

Exactly, they said the same for the West Wing, I believe President Bartlett was only going to be a one term president. Interestingly enough, Aaron Sorkin and Rob Lowe left around this time. But the prez may be around longer than that. Good storytelling is sticking to reality. If Bartlett is around for over eight years, we got a problem.
