Okay, I decided to post the poll. I've explained my position but I'll probably re-post it here. I figure, it's fluff but why not.

What the hell? Adult Swim Celebrity Makeover?
Did I miss something or is a discussion on Robin's HAIR this important?
Voted Option 2.
I honestly don't care. It doesn't bug me.

I like it, it fits the character. But honestly even if she had bad hair I doubt I'd care that much about it.

I like Robin's hair, though I suppose it won't be long before we see Christina Aguilera with her hair like that.

Oh! it's FAB-u-lous! a fascininating pastiche on pigtail schoolgirl chic! if we could just tease it out a bit more and maybe streak in some highlights it would be perfect!
Option 2, if you couldn't pick up on the sarcasm.
I like her hair, alot. It's creative, it's definetly distinguishable. There's also alot of character you can take from the style aswell. Robin is 15, this caught me way off personaly, I'm going to guess her age is going to have some signifigance, especialy since everyone else is considerably older. So what is a distinguishable character of young girls? Pig tails/pony tails. That said it's also a symbol of some sort of innocence which could be shown through the series, that she is just a little girl thrown into the dark, grim, noir world around her because she has a special skill.
That said, I clicked the second option, because I don't care. It's hair.

Well as I mentioned before, it does not matter much if the Hair style is good, it is just my own openion in it, I just hope we don't get any flammers on who does not like Robin's hair, I mean for any chance if someone drew her, it would be very cute and all.

I personally don't care. Robin Sena is what Animerica once called "A Lolita-Goth princess", the style suits her.

Robin's hair is tight! Anyway why are people making such a big deal out of it? Anyway, i like it, but the first think that caught my reaction when I saw her was her hair.

I don't like it, but honestly, it isn't that big of a deal. It's hair. Chop it off and she's still an underage girl who sleeps naked, rubs up against televisions sets, and doesn't smile much.

I like it, but overall I don't care, so I voted " I like it" after seeing the hate in the talkback.
From a wanna-be critic's POV, it makes sense, not only with her personality, but to distinguish her not only from the rest of the cast, but other anime as well.
Its like what Matt Groening said about character designs being unique if you can recognize their silouttes. ALOT of anime characters look alike, and a few even look like they were ripped off. With characters like Robin and Goku, the hair is first to come to mind and really distinguishes them.
Granted, with someyou got to wonder when they'll run out of ideas. I like HACK//Sign's style, but they're illogical disigns are only saved by the fact its a game. Armor that covers only parts of the body aside, BT having sleeves that don't attaach to her outfit boggles me :p

Thanks Rabi! At least a girl agrees with me. I made this poll as a lark, and to the people that don't care... why did you even respond to say "I don't care."
Haha, I love it. We can make a 2 page thread about pigtails.
Personally I find pigtails very sexy and to see them so un-sexy on anyone, even an animated character... well think of your favorite food, and then think of how you'd feel if it was ruined by an incompetent chef. It's like that for me.

If you don't like it up, you're really not going to like it down... Myself, I think it suits her. Wait... Why am I posting in a thread about hair?!
I really wasn't liking the look myself from the previews.. but as the first episode went on I started liking the hair.. It seems to fit her personality well.
But really it didn't matter.. even if I still didn't like the hair, I'd still watch the show if it's good, and it is. :anime:

While my first instinctive reaction was, "what the hell is that on her head?", it really doesn't matter. The fact that she looks a little spazzed only heightens the fact that she is not like the rest of the hunters, she is only a young girl, and hey, the story is called "Witch Hunter ROBIN" so they can design her hair any darn way they want. I wonder if Sesshomaru will decide to do the same with his hair. The fangirls will be crushed. heh heh. Somebody get me the drawing board; I have inspiration for something for the "Fluffy" parody site now.

I don't really see the problem with it but I tend to like weird hair. Go here (http://www.pick.ucam.org/~tjm35/robimanga/) in case you missed it in the talkback they make fun of her hair a couple times of course it helps if you know a little about Azumanga Daioh.

Refresh my memory here. Did anyone make a big deal out of Cowboy Bebop Spike's poufy hair? Or Jet's lack thereof?
Or maybe it's just because Robin looks like she has a pair of Banana bike handlebars with attached streamers on the side of her head. I dunno.

02-19-2004, 05:22 PM
I like her hair. It's distinctive. And Lord knows we've seen more unrealistic hair in anime before. At least the color isn't purple or blue. :) And with some wires, I could see that 'do in real life! I'm sure it'd be easier for a girl cosplayer to pull off Robin's 'do than a guy to pull off Goku's or Vash's.
And there's the accessorizing possibilities! Like, at Christmas time she can hang orniments from them for a very festive look! :D

Just my opinion, but if you hate it that much, then you must have certain issues needed to be worked out. And since when was Bill Cosby in the lowest level of hell.....
