okay, i've heard a lot about these, and seen them on ebay.
But just how does one go about ordering these? I've checked the columbia house website, and the only batman animated tapes listed are the movies, and the joker/robin/ etc. videos that are available at any video store.
Has anyone actually bought these, how did you go about doing so, and how is the quality on them.
thanks,
b3

I have got them. Columbia House sent me this thing in the mail with new releases and B:TAS was on there. so I started getting them and I am up to18 videos now. I think they have 28 volumes total. But be warned, they are in themes, not in order. I haven't been dissappointed yet, and haven't had to return one because of a glitch. I am glad I have them too, now that the B:TAS DVDs are up in the air! :)

Well, there are no "back issues" . they will start you off with the 1rst video and then send you one a month. I think total the videos are like $22 total including shipping. Hope this helps! :)

From what I hear they are a good deal. They do leave out a few Batman episodes, like If You're So Smart Why Aren't You Rich, as well as Batman appareances in World's Finest Part 3 (they have parts 1 & 2) and Demon Reborn. And they have Love Is A Croc twice in the collection.

It's still there. You gotta look in their classic TV shows section, not in the movies. Here is a link if it helps...

The animation is first rate."-Entertainment Weekly. Millionaire playboy by day, Dark Knight by nightfall, Bruce Wayne battles Gotham City crime with his physical prowess and detective skills in the guise of the Batman. With the occasional help of his protègès Robin and Batgirl, he prowls the night, fighting frightening villains like the maniacal Joker, tortured Two-Face, the feline femme fatale Catwoman, and a rogue's gallery of other familiar freaks. Unlike the 1960s campy live-action version or earlier '70s and '80s cartoons, this stylized animated drama casts a more somber shadow and remains faithful to the comics. Drawn in a style dubbed "Dark Deco" design, its innovative use of black backgrounds, bold character lines, and sharp streamlined illustration creates a distinctive look. The series' visual inspiration owes much to the old Max Fleischer classic "Superman" cartoons as well as '40s film noir. Envisioned as a dramatic series for older audiences rather than a kiddie show, "Batman: The Animated Series" regularly contains sophisticated dialogue punctuated by bursts of gripping violence and action. In keeping with this adult tone, Batman displays a brooding mood true in spirit to the grim superhero Bob Kane created. As Print puts it, this is most assuredly "the definitive treatment of any of this century’s comic book characters." Each volume contains four breathtaking episodes. Subsequent volumes are $19.95 each plus shipping and handling. Subsequent volumes are $19.95 each plus shipping and handling

Your First Volume:
The Trial of Harvey Dent
Harvey Dent is one of the most interesting and tragic of Batman’s enemies. Driven by both inner demons and a horrible accident, this decent man becomes the criminal Two Face, at once hideous and pitiful. His relationship with Batman is unique in that the hero wants to help, and not merely capture the villain.

Pretty Poison
Air Date: September 14, 1992
This episode, the twenty first produced, introduces a pre-Two Face Harvey Dent, Gotham City’s District Attorney and Bruce Wayne's best friend. It is also the debut of another of Batman’s fascinating foes, the alluring and deadly Poison Ivy, whose motives are as commendable as her methods are depraved.

Two Face, Part I
Air Date: September 25, 1992
Originally shown several weeks after "Pretty Poison," this beginning of a two part story is probably the first time a character on an animated show is seen going to a psychiatrist. We see Harvey winning a struggle with the rage that lives within him—until an accident scars both his face and his soul.

Two Face, Part II
Air Date: September 28, 1992
The saga of Two Face continues as Harvey Dent turns to crime and a war of vengeance against the mobster who destroyed his life. Here, Batman displays a side of his personality not often seen, a deep compassion for a man victimized by forces beyond his control.

The Trial
Air Date: May 16, 1994
A treat for fans of grotesque villainy—virtually all of the insane inmates of Arkham Asylum gather to put a bound and helpless Batman on trial, with Two Face as prosecutor and death as the penalty. Batman’s defender? A woman who believes he is as guilty as his enemies.
