Well, I caught the last ten minutes. Of what I saw it seemed good, but I had no idea what was going on.

Stupid WB.

Woulda watched it, but the schedule change caught me off-guard.

Okay, even if I knew the time, I probably wouldn't have, thanks to DinoThunder.

Attempting to turn the city dark something not quite original since the Simpsons did it! in "Army of Darkness" Review:

I caught this Static Shock episode. I thought it was decent. I'm not a big Static Shock fan, I've only caught a few episodes. This one had an ok story, and I liked the characters that were in it. Also liked Gear's comment on Batman being a rich guy that can sleep whenever.. Gotta love that line "Don't forget you have friends in the shadows".. or something like that. I liked Gale and I liked Static's line about needing a guard dog or something when it was revealed their headquarters was the spot for the bomb. I give the episode a C+

yeah, the schedule change did throw everyone off. Due to the concequences of my new job, and my scheduling of classes, I dont get to see much of kids wb on weekdays. But from what I did observe, they didnt even try to show a comercial alerting us of statics new time. The only reason I caught this ep, was cause of my internet searching pulling up the time slot. (plus I wanted to see jackie chan)

The episode was a good one. Nice to see some of the Blood Syndicate. Now If we can get Icon on the show.....

I loved this episode. I have never read the Static comics so if this is the Blood Syndicate, cool! Ebon was as cool as ever. His plan made a lot of sense for someone with shadow powers. He is definitely Static's Big Bad. I can't get enough of him.

I also loved how Static refused to talk about Batman's identity with Gear. This is something that has never been addressed before. Batman's trust of Static was not misplaced. He usually tells Richie everything, but not this time.

NightinGale, Brickhouse, Tech, and Fade were cool. I'm dying to know more about them. If anyone has read the comics could you help me out?

I love the concept of the Children of the Night. I hope they return this season. It just seems to make Static's world that much bigger, as do the cross-overs. A great episode. ****1/2

Defintely a good episode that didn't deal with any crossovers. But I did like that mention of Batman and Gear not knowing his secret identity, although he was on the right track figuring he's a rich guy who could sleep in during the day. But of course, Static and Gear aren't and Virgil at least was sleeping through chemistry class. But still it's definitely tougher for them to catch up on their Z's considering they've got homework and likely chores at home.

I don't get the comic book (Heck, I've never even seen a Static Shock comic in any of the stores I go to), so I'm not familiar with the Nightbreed. It was good that they had a change of heart and decided to help Static and Gear against Ebon. It would have been interesting if they were a little more trustful of those above them and sought help for their syndrome. If you recall "Hard as Nails", Bruce Wayne did start up a clinic for metahumans who wanted to be cured of their mutations. Static could have mentioned it to them. It is interesting though that the big bang gas made this group so sensitive to light while Static, Ebon and others weren't. As for Fade, it's possible they made him into a light-skinned Hispanic. In the end credits, he and Tech were voiced by the same actor who's last name was Rodriguez. Overall, an exellent episode of Static Shock as he and Gear are becoming heroes in their own right to the levels of the Justice League.

It's funny though that the plot to cover Dakota in darkness is similar to the Jackie Chan Adventures' episode "Ninja Twilight" that aired just before it. In that episode, the ninth Oni mask was recovered, but when they were all joined together, they came to life and began to spread darkness all over the world. This just came to me after I posted this. :)

Now if we can get Icon, Hardware, Rocket and Xombi into the series, mon, we and the Static Shock will be straight!

I believe the "WB" initials should now stand for "What Buffoons!"

It irks me to no end that they pull these schedule "modifications". Not only did the Teen Titans BLOW MAJOR CHUNKS this week, I had to miss Static on top of it.

Thanks, "Whackified Boobs", thanks a lot!

Well, good thing they're friends now because Static just told them where their HQ is (when he didn't have to say it). :D

Truly this was the coolest Ebon episode ever, which, btw is the only reason I watch Static Shock to begin with. However, I was dissapointed at the fact that he didn't have an army.

Oh, and can somone tell me what episode Aqua Marie is on? Because her, and Ebon would be an awesome evil duo.

Aquamaria appeared in "Bad Stretch", the episode where it is revealed that Rubberband Man and Ebon are brothers. She was the newest member of the metabreed. It reaired last week.

...and with much love there was some disappointment with Fade and too some extension Brickhouse. Tech and Nightengale were cool in their parts, and Brickhouse does look built like a Brickhouse but her story in the comics made her more a tragic character in regards to the fact that her features were more like the Thing on Fantastic Four, unable to transform her body ala Collosus of X-men. Still it was pretty cool for her being there and I guess with the sunlight ailment she and her friends can be just as tragic in a Morlock-type of way.

Now my dissappoint of Fade... Yes, he's appearently whitebread-ish looking and phase in and out like Shadowcat, but all he did! I missed the actual "fade-haircut" having, goatee-wearing, delayed-punch reacting, smoking/mist fuming, and actually had mono-chromatic colors (he was pure black & white) type of ghost guy. Yeah the "fade" haircut is a bit retro 90s but John Stewart can still wear that style in JL and still bag Hawkgirl. I want my "Mario van Peebles" look-a-like Fade back! At least make him mono-chromatic, it brought the ghostly aspect of a Fade into play with that lovely three-second "delayed" punch. God, that was sweet when he used that with Superman. Okay I am done ranting now on Fade.

When Brickhouse (she'll do in a pinch) and "Wannabe" Fade (yeah, I am disappointed in this guy) comes back... please please PLEASE bring back Aquamaria!!! and until Tech become "Tech-9", I'll hold off all opinion on him.

I do agree on the part of Gear trying to figure out Batman's identity from Static. Those two going to school and night patrol is taking its tool on them.

Static: "How does Batman do it?"
Gear: "Eh, he's probably some rich guy who can sleep doing the day... waitaminute... he's some rich guy, right?!?"
Static: "I'm not saying anything..."

Nice to have Ebon back... I have a feeling that Static's going to outgrow the two-bit thug in his future, so its nice to see them milking the character for what he's worth now.

As far as the Nightbreed is concerned, I appreciated the subtext about how the surface dwellers' fear of them was partially what forced them into crime and delinquency. I'm of the opinion that societal perceptions and the environment that many kids are cultivated in have an enormous impact on their future actions and what they do with their lives... everybody isn't given an equal opportunity, and it was interesting to possibly see this view reflected within this episode. People don't start stealing and selling crack on the street for no reason. They do it because they have to.
