I was wondering if anybody remembers the lyrics to the "April Showers" song that Bugs sang in "Wet Hare." I can't remember and I can't find it on the "Looney Lyrics" page. They asked this question at a role-play game on another message board and I was wondering if anybody here can give me some information on that. Any help would be appreciated.

When April Showers,
May Come your Way...
They Bring the Flowers,
That Bloom In May...
And When It's Raining,
Have No Regrets...
You Know It Isn't Raining Raindrops,
It's Raining Violets...
How's that?

Hmmm. I don't think that's the song I was thinking of...
Here are the lyrics I know. I'm just missing a few words..
Life is not a highway strewn with flowers,
Still it _____ a goodly share of bliss,
When the sun gives way to ____ showers,
Here's the point that ____ should never miss.
Can anybody help fill in the blanks?
Also, can someone tell me which cartoon it was from? I thought it was the song he sang in "Wet Hare," but I think I"m wrong about that.

It's the same song. You're looking for the words to the intro; liselbartman gave you the lyrics to the chorus. I found what you're looking for here:

It goes:
Life is not a highway strewn with flowers,
Still it holds a goodly share of bliss,
When the sun gives way to April showers,
Here is the point you should never miss.

Thanks for that info. I appreciate that. Except I'm still not sure when Bugs sang that one. I mean it's from the intro to what? Lol. This will probably keep me up all night.

Har. I deserved that for not being more precise in my terminology. What I called the "intro" is really the "verse" in song writing parlance. The "chorus" is the familiar part of the song, the part with the melody and lyrics we're all familiar with. The verse is, in truth, the introduction, or set-up, for the main "story" of the song. It sets the stage for what comes next, but it's often omitted in performance and recording. For example, fewer people, relatively speaking, are familiar with this:
The sun is shining
The grass is green
The orange and palm trees sway.
I've never seen such a day
In Beverly Hills LA.
But it's December the 24th
And I am longing to be up North.
Than with what comes next:
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know.
etc. etc.

Oh, I get it. The intro is the part that Bugs didn't sing. I guess somebody at the other message board gave me some misleading information. Lol.
