    Dead Leaves Trailer

    Like This Thread!
Production I.G. newest series Dead Leaves trailer is online.

    Comments?

For me, it looks like it has that FLCL energy to it. The designs are different from the average anime series.

Is it a series or a movie? Because it's rated PG-13. And unless Japan is wackily-backwards, TV shows are not reviewed by the MPAA.

but yeah I'm pretty sure it's an OVA. The animation definiteiy reminds me of FLCL not to mention the TV head character.

Oh and for those who can't figure out how to get the trailer once you enter the site they have a bunch of boxes on the right click the middle(pink) box on the bottom row.

The MPAA is in Iowa. I don't think they rate anything outside of the USA.

Thanks for the tip. I was clueless for a while there. Wow, this is different.

I'm assuming the director behind Animatrix's "World Record" is behind this, since they both have that same shading style.

I must admit, I'm intrigued. It definetely appears to be an energetic-to-insane experience.

Whoa. Scary, pointy animation! Definitely going to see this.

It looks like they took the wackiness that was "FLCL", dipped it in the twisted designs of "Reign", and coated it with the color-pallete of "Jet Grind Radio".

All I can say now is: any show that has a man with a trianglar drill for a...member can't be that bad.

Whatever you do, don't read this signature.

btw, gainax is linked on the Dead Leaves site? are doing some work on it to return the favor of production IG working on FLCL?

additionally, I'm going to guess that Manga Entertainment funded this one out of the gate since they are also linked on the site.

This looks um.. odd to say the least. I hope its more interesting than it looks. I usually love highly stylized things like this.

It is indeed an OVA. Same art director as FLCL, and the director was the animation director of FLCL as well.

I thought of that too, although there are a lot of differences in style as well.

*whistles* Vibrant and fluid....color me interested.
