El Hazard and Magic Knight

I'm looking into these two series. I just bought the first graphic novel of El Hazard today but I'm looking for more info and trying to decide which series to invest in anime wise.

Any recommendations of one over the other?

I haven't seen any of Magic Kinght and am still wacthing El Hazzard on the Internation Channel. El Hazzard is an ok show bout I can't really compare it to the other as I haven't seen it. Hope you can get something good out of my post .

but I was hoping for more of an opinion or two, most of the fan sites are obviously going to promote their favorite series.

I've only seen the El-Hazard series, I have 3 vol.s of Magic Knight Rayearth that I just got but haven't watched yet.

El-hazard is pretty good with romance,action and comedy, The ending of episode 1 and begining of episode2 is really funny.

El-Hazard2 is good for action.

El-Hazard the Wanderers (tv-series) is a very good show. It's got action, a little romance, and laughs. One of the few shows I recomend.

El-Hazard the Alternate World- It's a continuation to El-Hazard1 and 2, but with new characters and story. It starts off good but near the middle it feels like they just rushed the story to end it quickly. The story's ending is a little confusing and doesn't fill like it's really finished. The last episode is more of fan-service and is good at ending the series(recomended if you seen the 1st or 2nd OAV).

The comic is kinda based on the 1st series but looks like it was done by the guys who made the tv series.

I'd go with El Hazard. I loved El Hazard and I loved the appearance of the El Hazzard characters in Magical Girl Pretty Sammy.

Meanwhile I didn't much like Magic Knights Rayearth because the story does a 180 after the 3rd or 4th book. I didn't really care much for the "instant" change in storyline that seemed to occure.
