Tokyopop's new projects

Good god, they're doing both Grav AND Fake? Argh, too much for mah poor lil brain to handle....

FAKE, Gravitation, Pet Shop of Horrors, The Kindaichi Case Files, Under the Glass Moon, Happy Mania, Erica Sakurazawa, NieA_7, Baby Birth, FLCL, Brigadoon, Wild Act, Brain Powered, Saber Marionette J ... whew! - what do all these series have in common? They're all gonna be TOKYOPOP releases this year!

I, for one, will be a VERY happy little fangirl if I can get the Petshop of Horrors manga. And here's to FLCL!

I must buy the following:

Niea_7 - Yo****oshi Abe is awesome. Also, since nobody seems to have bought the Niea dvds besides me (pioneer is still on the first pressing of the last 3 dvds IIRC), I probably won't have to worry about it being cleared out the second it comes in, unlike the other mangas I like.

FLCL - Gainax related stuff is also awesome. I'll have to check by stores everyday when the release date nears though so I can nail down a copy before it sells out.

Gravitation - The anime was pretty good, so hopefully is equivelent or better. Given that my school anime has bunch of yaoi/shonen-ai fans, I'll probably have to keep a close eye for this as well. I will probably be one of the few men buying it though.

Hey, I liked the DVDs. None of my friends or my brother like this show, but there's just something oddly endearing about. I too am looking forward to the manga.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, I just seem to be one of the few people who likes it. On this board I think you, me and twage are the only one who've seen it and liked it. It's a great show IMO, and it can be enjoyed on a lot of levels, so I'm eager waiting the release of the manga, though if tokyopop's site is any indication, it won't be out until atleast july, if not later.

bah... just because I haven't mentioned having seen NeiA_7 doesn't mean I haven't. And I enjoyed what I've seen quite a bit. I love Yoshitoshi Abe's work and am looking forward to the manga. Those are a lot of interesting releases listed. Saber Marionette J, Brigadoon, Pet Shop of Horrors, NieA_7, and even Brain Powered have all attracted my attention. Though the one that intrigues me the most would have to be FLCL. Gainax tends to put a very interesting flare on all the anime they produce, and I'm very interested in seeing the manga that spawned this particular gem.

The Anime Came first, followed by the Manga.

They are both very different, and incredibly alike..

Niea_7 manga. too cool. i love Yoshitoshi ABe as well (hey that makes 4 of us now) and i cant wait to see Habaine (sp) as i have read a good deal of her Charcoal Feather Federation material in which this anime was based off of.

as for the rest, i love it all...except the Shonen-ai. just keep it away and i will be all right.

ABe is a guy. From the Haibane Renmei article in Newtype USA #2:

This original concept is by Yoshitoshi ABe, who did the original character designs for serial expiriments lain and NieA_7. This will be his third anime title, but the first he has done an original concept and script.

Yes! Niea_7 and FLCL! I'm dying to get those. I know FLCL is drastically different from the anime. I hear that Canti isn't even in the manga.

Now if only they would get Hellsing and Read or Die like i suggested to them in their website survey...
