I thought they were replaying the first couple of episodes from 11pm-1am on Friday nights? Unless I'm reading this wrong ^^;
Cuz I don't see much. Why are they doing it like this? If you miss an episode you're pretty screwed.
What's up with this? What advantage do they hope to gain?

can't worry about tomorrow's pain tonight - lucky boys confusion
Just how are you screwed? Miss Tuesday's ep? Catch it at 11:30/10:30 central on Friday. They replay Mon-Thurs.'s episodes on Friday 11pm-1am. Then they show the next four episodes 1am-3am. So you just get a four-hour marathon right there.Originally posted by JohnCrichton

"The advance is hip right now, but the original has a place in my heart, unlike pocket which only had the plastic grey, though color had killer appies for things like the sewing machine, not much use for virtual anymore, huh."
The advantage I see in TechTV's anime schedule is that they don't exhaust their supply (?) of titles too quickly. They start one series and then move on to another one when it's finished unlike the way CN airs anime (not bashing) as I'm sure most of us are familiar with.
OK, back to lurking...
Yeah, I don't like their schedule much either. I think they should give up on the four-hour Fridays thing and just rerun the Mon-Thurs episodes on Friday. That way they wouldn't burn through each series so quickly. Or, better yet, they could rerun the previous series after the current one (so for example, air Lain at 11 and Crest of Stars at 11:30) on Mon-Thurs and then rerun them both on Friday for four hours. That way it would be more like an actual animation BLOCK instead of just showing one show and slapping the "Anime Unleashed" label on it for no apparent reason. (-:
But you've also got to realize that Anime Unleashed is a pretty new block, and for that matter, TechTV is a pretty new channel. Yeah, it's not that great right now, but give them a little time to get settled and figure out what works best and maybe it'll improve on us. They're doing one thing better than most other anime blocks as it is-- airing their shows uncut for content. (There are still time cuts, but that's unavoidable.)
I'm OK with the schedule right now since we just TiVo it and watch later. Sadly I didn't get digital cable until after Crest of Stars was over but just in time to catch the start of Lain - which is definitely something that CN probably wouldn't touch (not very action oriented)
Even though it's not a real block, I still like this schedule. Not showing four new episodes on the Friday block doesn't effect how fast they go through each series. After it premieres on Friday, they rerun them Monday-Thursday and on the next Friday's block. It's virtually impossible to miss an episode if you have three chances to catch it. I wouldn't mind your idea of adding on the previous series to the block, but I still like their schedule right now better. You have more choices when you want to watch it instead of just programming it on your VCR.Originally posted by Mynd Hed
