Ever heard of " The Sea Prince and Fire Child?"
One of those obscure animated films nobody seems to care about. I may rent it one day. Anyone seen it and liked it?

Never heard of it, but I am attracted to obscure anime titles like bees are to honey. You're gonna rent it? So this is available on video or DVD?
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

Not sure if it's anime. It looked like a pretty old VHS. Doubt it's on DVD yet, if ever.
I did, however, come across an obscure dub of the anime "Thumbelina."
"Thumbelina" my *****! Aside from the bad dubbing and ridiculously 40-year old voice for the 10-year old heroine, the story is basically a story ABOUT the Thumbelina story, with standard adventure cliches thrown in to pad the film.
Gah. You have to see it to know what I mean, which I do not recommend you do. Good thing I rented Powerpuff Girls with it. It saved my sanity after that fiasco.
I'd like to see this anime version of "The Little Mermaid" that I've been hearing about. I heard that Ariel (or whoever they named her in this version) commits suicide in the end...

I've seen Sea Prince and the Fire Child. Well, the dubbed version on a seriously degraded VHS tape where the audio was almost pure fuzz. Not a bad little flick at all, sort of a Romeo and Juliet set-up with more than a few dark elements in it. Worth the rental, and I certainly hope you wind up with a better copy than I did.
