I thought that this week's episode was okay. The duel was fairly decent and it helped that both Yuma and Alito were bouncing off each other pretty well. The same old ace/upgraded ace spamming still kind of bothers me, but that has more to do with the duel writing for the whole series more than anything else. Yuma could have taken the chance to use Shining Draw right after using the power of Zexal since he hadn't taken his normal draw phase, but that would have ended the duel sooner. It's still an annoying deus ex machina and their justification for it doesn't really help, but it would have made sense to use it right away. Alito being able to use his Chaos Number when Mizar couldn't shows that they just wanted to delay showing Chaos Number 107, rather than the Barian Sphere Field not being stable enough.
Astral not being able to take Alito's Numbers was a bit surprising. In the Japanese version, it's hinted there that these Numbers are Alito's soul, or connected to it, which could be one reason why Astral couldn't take them. They haven't explained what these Over One Hundred Numbers are and Astral has said that they shouldn't exist, so his usual method of gaining Numbers might not work since they aren't a part of his memories and thus aren't a part of Astral. The ending did leave a pretty decent cliffhanger with Astral still feeling the effects of the Barian Sphere Field and Gilag finding Alito who claims that Ray attacked him.
