Voice Actress, Singer Michal Friedman Passes Away

ANN confirmed on Wednesday that singer/songwriter and voice actress Michal Friedman (Michal The Girl) passed away on November 25. Friedman died from complications after giving birth to twins by cesarean section. Friedman's twin children were born healthy.
Friedman played roles in various anime, such as Esther inMobile Suit Gundam UC and Paya (cute version) inMagical Witch Punie-chan. Friedman's website notes that she played Seisei in Samurai Deeper Kyo and various roles in The Gokusen. Friedman also voiced the role of Annalise in the new Speed Racer: The Next Generation cartoon, and she also voiced Tune in the animated television series Winx Club.
As a singer and songwriter, Friedman released two albums, and two of her songs were featured in the filmTravellers and Magicians. She also was a vocalist for various tracks from several major European dance music composers.
A memorial service for Friedman was held in New York City on Wednesday afternoon. A website has been set up where visitors can donate money to help with the immediate expenses needed to raise the twins.

This is just tragic. She looked so young in that picture and to die from complications from child birth is just so sad for both the husband and the children as they will grow up without their mother. I'm glad that the twins were born healthy, as I think that the blow would be even more depressing if they didn't survive for the whole family, and I think it's really nice that they set up a website where people can donate money to help raise the twins. I knew that Dan Green had married not too long ago, but I feel so sad for him losing his wife at such a young age and it must be quite hard on him. I don't think I ever heard her singing. I might have heard her role in Speed Racer: The Next Generation and probably her role in Winx Club, although I don't remember the character Tune off the top of my head.

I truly pray that her family will be able to get through this emotionally difficult time and I hope that these infants will be given plenty of love, comfort and support from their father and the rest of their family members throughout their lives.

Aw, that's just horrible. Poor Dan Green. What would have been one of the happiest days of his life just turned into pure tragedy. I hope that he can get through this extremely emotional time and raise his twin children to have happy, healthy lives. My prayers go out to him, his children, and the rest of his family.

That is tragic. My condolentions to her family. How old was she? It doesn't mention her age in the article. I remember just before Speed Racer: The Next Generation premered Nicktoons had some behind the scenes promos (like they did for Dragon Ball Z Kai) and she was one of the people featured in that, and she seemed very nice and funny.

Even though I don't know Dan, Michal, or any of these actors personally, it still hit me pretty hard. My condolences go out to Dan and Michal's families, I can't imagine what they must be going through right now.

I also think its pretty cool that Jason Griffith and Mike Pollock are on Facebook encouraging fans to donate and give Dan their support. It really shows that these guys really are friends, and I like that.

I saw that guest book a few hours ago. I thought it was really touching that Jason Griffith and Mike Pollock set it up and are encouraging fans to give Dan their support. That really does show how nice they are and how they are good friends with each other. I also find it quite nice that there have been so many people who signed that guestbook. I hope that those comments and the donations will help Dan feel some comfort in his time of grief. Those twins are beautiful and I hope that he'll be able to smile when he looks at them. Losing his wife is so tragic, but his children are still precious gifts and I still think that the blow would have been even more heartbreaking for him if he lost his children as well. I can't donate any money for him, but I really hope that he'll be able to get emotional and financial support to take care of his children.

I'm a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! fan and love Dan Green. That said, even if I had never heard of him, this is a horribly tragic event that should have been one of the greatest days of the couple's lives. My condolences go out to her family for whatever it's worth.
