And so we go from here....
I hope absolutely nothing changes and nothing seems different (apart from no longer seeing "Navarre" in my DVDs)
This is the talkback thread for PR: Navarre Corporation Announces Sale of FUNimation Entertainment.
So, who's feed mill did they pawn off this time?
All kidding aside, FUNimation is now owned by Fukunaga and some other rich guys. Woot.
And so we go from here....
I hope absolutely nothing changes and nothing seems different (apart from no longer seeing "Navarre" in my DVDs)

As long as I still get my Sgt. Frog releases, I'm okay with this.![]()

At least Fukunaga is still in charge.

It's kind of like ET, if you take out all of the emotion and turn it into a silly webcomic that's updated on Tuesdays and Thursdays
The conspiracy theorist in me asks: Might this have something to do with the TVTokyo/4Kids Yu-Gi-Oh thing that's brewing?
Since Funi was called out by name, Navarre might probably want to put as much distance between them and legal liability as humanly possible.
Zim: "I thought the Tallest killed you."
Skoodge "Yeah, but I'm all right now."
Mad Jack the Pirate: "You were DEAD! How do you get better from being DEAD, you Scottish twit?!??"
So it finally happened. Well I hope they continue to be the same, and that if anything has to change, it's only for the better of FUNimation. It will be interesting to not see "A Navarre Corporation Company" anymore.

Nah. As you can see, Navarre announced its intention to do this way back near the end of May 2010, and in fact they even projected that they would "....Present FUNimation Entertainment as a Discontinued Operation Beginning in the First Quarter of FY 2011". So as it turns out, this sale is happening right on schedule.
It seems like a good situation for FUNimation itself. It should retain the independence to keep doing what it's doing; hopefully it can expand in the way it hopes to under this arrangement as well. More co-pros would be fantastic.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
Actually you will still be seeing Navaree on the DVD's. If you read the article, it says Navaree entered into an agreement with FUNimation to continue releasing their DVD's. The only thing that will be removed is the "A Navaree Corporation Company." The Navaree logo though should be on the DVD set itself, just as WB is on the Viz Media DVD's since Warner Brothers releases the Viz DVD's.
