In light of the next Anime of the Month nomination cycle for April, I wanted to bring this up as it's an issue that keeps coming back:

How long should an anime title that has aired on TV be off the air before it can be nominated for AotM?

To be fair, the rule banning anime on broadcast television was in place from the beginning to keep people from nominating shows like Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other shows that are/were constantly airing on Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Fox Kids (now 4KidsTV/CW4Kids), and so forth (notwithstanding certain AotM titles that won in the past and eventually ended up on TV). This was all dating back to 2003, and since that time things have changed. More anime titles are available online through legal means, via iTunes, via Video On Demand, etc., and as such there is considerably less anime airing on television than in the past.

At this point, it's best to ask where the TV ban rule goes from here, and/or if other bans should be implemented. Everyone can give their opinion(s) on the matter, though I'm not really sure if this is the appropriate place to put this.
