OH SNAAAP! Big thanks man for posting that here and on Twitter. Still definitely wanna see Shishio at different angles. In terms of his burns, it looks vaguely like Freddy Krueger's in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
Bigger thing is the shots of the Aoshi and Cho fights plus more Hitokiri Battousai flashbacks. Now I'm getting excited.

For a minute there I thought the trailer was just reused footage from the first. Nothing really sticks out until the last shot with Shishio. I wonder if their final fight in the third movie is going to take place at Mount Hiei? I'd hate for them to keep using these non-descript locations.

Well backstory could be interesting, but there's also the matter of just what became of characters like Sojiro and Enishi after we saw them last. There's a lot of possibility with this one!
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson

Hmm, interesting. Kenshin had some pretty cool villains, so I'm not against this. I do think that Watsuki is borderline milking the franchise. Not yet, but announce another spin-off.
