    Rank the Digimon female leads

    Like This Thread!
The new Digimon series Digimon Xros Wars debuts in less than 24 hours, I am so excited.

Anyway there have been many debates and comparisons of the goggle heads, and also debates and comparisons of Ash's female travel companions. So got to me to thinking in the spirit of those two subjects, how would you rank the female leads on Digimon?

Here there are in cronological order:

Sora Takenochi - the first female lead, she was the voice of reason and mediator of the group. Very level headed.

Hikari "Kari Kamiya" Yagami - introduced in the first series as the younger sister of the first goggle head, is he crush of the second goggle head. She is warrior of light spirit, her gentle heart is respected among everyone.

Ruki "Rika Nonaka" Makino - a very strong personality, in my opinion she comes to stealing the show from the goggle head. Very memorable character. Intial very rough around the edges, a longer but eventully realises the strong bond of friendship.

Izumi "Zoey" Orimoto - she is the only girl in the group, she is a combination of Sora and Hikari in my opinion. Often being the voice of reason, but an idal amoung Digimon huns her rivalory with Ranamon.

Yoshio Fujieda - an agent of DATS, she gets the shafts as far as importance compared to her male counterparts. We get a little of backstory, but the others got a much more bigger backstory.

Now my ranking, it is hard.

    1) Ruki - of all the Tamer characters, she is the most memorable. I love everything about her from how comic relief moments with Hirokazu and Kinta to how she took Juri under her wing.

    2) Hikarai - this is a tough call between Hikari and Sora, but I loved her in the original Adventures and in Adentures 02, how she had the crest of light. And when she was trapped in the world of darkness, and her struggle to be more independence.

    3) Sora - she had her moments, when she secretly helped everyone not fall for Picodevimon's tricks, and her story with her mother.

    4) Isumi - she is okay, her story of being an outsider from another country from another country was good. Sadly like everyone except for Takuya and Koji, she was pushed to the side.

    5) Yoshino - she was good in the beginning, she had her moments. But the writers didn't give her as much development as they did for Masaru and Touma.

Where will Akari rank when all is said and done, we will have to wait and see.

I'd probably agree with that list, though the fact Ruki got shafted in the final episodes by being some power beacon for Ryou was extremely disappointing

    1. Rika: I thought that she was the best developed female character out of all of the Digimon series thus far. She went from seeing Digimon as nothing but data, to becoming friends with Takato and Henry and then developing a close bond to her Digimon partner. Even though she was shafted in the final battle, though it was mainly focused on Takato getting back Jeri if I recall correctly, I felt like her character came full circle. Plus, my heartstrings are still pulled when I hear Riku cries out that she loves Renamon right before she goes back to the Digital World.

    2. Sora: I liked how she was a fairly confident/outgoing character at the start, but then started to doubt herself due to her crest of love. It was also interesting how she helped the other Digidestined after they split up once Tai and Agumon went back to the human world. Her issues with her relationship with her mother were also handled nicely, mainly in the Myotismon arc. I don't think think that she got a lot of focus during the Dark Masters arc, but she still had a good amount of development.

    3. Zoey: This was actually a tough call to make for me. I like Kari, but I thought that Zoey just had a bit more development and backstory for her character. It was sad to see how mean her peers were with her being a foreigner and I thought that it made Zoey a more sympathetic character. I liked her rivalry, or at least it felt like one in the dub, with Ranamon and she came off as a pretty tough female character. Granted, she was pushed aside after the Cherubimon arc, just like every other character who wasn't Takuya and Koji, but I still thought that she was a pretty good character.

    4. Kari: I liked Kari in both Adventure 01 and 02, but I think I prefer her a bit in 01 than in 02. I liked her childlike innocence, which was nicely matched with having the crest of Light, and her bond with Gatomon felt more touching in that series. Being introduced so late in the series didn't give her a lot of time to develop, but I liked how she was kind of mysterious, such as in the episode where she gets sick and then after Tai gets her medicine, she's able to heal some of the Digimon. She was nice and still was in 02. I just don't think that the writers tapped into her character's full potential. We do see how Kari wanted to be stronger like Tai in 02, mainly in that Dark Ocean episode, but I don't think that we saw it developed much beyond that. If she had more development in 02, then I think I would have put her above Zoey at least.

    5. Yoshio: Sadly, she's probably one of, if not my most, least favorite Digimon character. I thought Yoshio had some interesting potential, being the oldest female leads thus far and being with her Digimon partner the longest compared to Marus and Thomas. While she did get some focus at the beginning of the series, that really fizzled out as the series gave more attention to Marcus and Thomas. She didn't seem to have a rememorable personality to me either, so she felt bland in comparison to the other female leads.

I preety much agree with zoombie's ranking. The only problem is that I don't really know too much about Savers to give a final call on Yoshino. From what I can tell, she at least did more than Zoe ever did.
It's sad that in the end, so much evil is done all in the name of 'Everyone Else is Doing It'.

She did have her own catchphrase, which few human characters had on Digimon. "This is the worst", while some might think that is a dub creation, that was actully in the Japanese version. I think it is their version or answer to Dawn's catchphrase "No need to worry".

Some female main characters were awesome on Digimon.
My top two favorites had to be Rika and Zoey.

Rika: Her bad ass attitude at the begining was intresting and new for a girl, than she developed and was one of the top best Digimon Card gamers there was.

Zoey: She wasn't like Rika but I liked how sweet she was but still gave her opinion when needed and she fought pretty hard when it came to it. I also really liked her Digimon spirit form.

Kari series 1: I liked this version better than series 2, at least she didn't keep pulling at people's heart's. She was sweet , kind and had a purpose in the Digital World. I admit, I am secretly a T.K/Kari shipper

    Girls I don't like...

    1. Mimi series 1: Gah she was annoying, in the dub specially her dub voice was just blah. Than all pink really? And in the begining to end she just cried about every thing. She got better in series 2 though, I liked it when she changed her hair and clothes and her dub voice was ten times better.

    2. Sora series 2: Maybe I'm just a Tai fan, but I felt she was pulling his string a bit that series. I really wanted to cry for the guy, he was so mature about it. I liked Sora way better in series 1.

    3. Yolei: Very selfish girl, the last battle every one gets sucked into the dream they've always wanted T.K wants his family together again, Cody wants his dad a live again, Kari wants the world at peace, Ken feels sorry for every thing he's done in the past. What does Yolei want? Every thing for herself, that annoyed the heck out of me. Than when they were fighting in the real world, she gave up so easy I just gah and she didn't get the fact that you needed to kill in order to save others. Only Davis/Kari/T.K/Ken did Yolei I wanted to throw in the Dark Zone some where never to be seen again. Boy do I feel sorry for Ken
