Funny thing, you know that comedy fodder Nara kid who is in love with Tenma?, well the author of the original manga was at first going to have him as the male lead instead of Harima, but he changed his mind (he realized Nara 's plain characteristics and general boringness would be lame, and decided to go with Harima instead, cause Harima would be more interesting), no joke, anyway, yeah, thank god he made Harima the male lead in the end.

Great review (except for these "writers" of which Duke speaks of, the anime guys just took all the manga plots, lol).

Yeah, After Azumanga Daioh, School Rumble is the best school comedy I've ever seen/read... well except for the fact that the writer ended up completely wimping out and giving no clear resolution to the manga and apparently they'll never animate the final third.

But don't let that discourage you from watching the series. The comedy is the hybrid of outrageous anime craziness and the best of the comedy you get from "wacky misunderstandings" of a sitcom. The journey is the thing here, if you were to compare it with a sitcom maybe think of Friends (whether you like it or not)- in the sense that they are both romantic comedies and you have an investment in where these couples end up. School Rumble never gets the neat resolution of Friends- but hey, if you're a fan of the show you know the best of it are the 235 episodes before the finale- not the sentimental send-off.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow
