This thread is open to all comments on today's episodes of Digimon: Digital Monsters and the new promotion at Dairy Queen, the first time a resturant has offered actual toys of the characters.

My comments on the episode:
It was nice to see Takato and Henry merged with their Digimon. Henry's merge, particuarly, was quite interesting. He thought he turned into a digimon, when, in reality, he actually combined with his 'mon when he digivolved. Takato's experience was also neat in a way, and more realistic I might add. The devimon-lookalike (I forget his name) killed Leomon and Takato wanted to fight with Gulimon, thus mergeing, and end the horror, for the memory of Leomon and to please Juri. The Battle raged, but Juri was not getting any happier because more and more Digimon were dying and it was scary. Once Takato realized this, he and Guilmon stopped beating on the evil Digimon, who stopped his evil ways in favor of more non-violent persuit. Sorta like the old Digi-Destined, with all the fear of seeing Digimon dissapear, huh?

My comments on the promo:
Finally. There is a resturant in the US with Digimon toys. However, it is at Dairy Queen, which has no Long Island locations. That is a problem. But I won't have to worry. My sister's college has a DQ in the same city. She will see what she can do about it. Also, check out the new DQ-Fox Kids promo game.

Dairy Quuen toys suck. the only good toy of anime ive gotten from fast food is a Dratini Plushy from KFC.

The episode was awesome, im thinking when Rika merges with Renomon she's going to ask for forgiveness about being so mean and cold and then its gonna say "Digi-Biomerge" i can see it all now =D how many episodes are left in the series?

I missed today's eps (bad feed) , and I am NOT HAPPY. Has Rika merged with Reyunomon yet...and do they sell Tamer figurines or just the 'Mons? Admittedly I'm more interested in the human cast than the cutesy beasts...plus a Jerri and a Rika would look adorable mounted atop my comp....

i think its digimon only and no Rika hasnt merged yet.. OH yeah i ahve a question myself... Whats the point of Andromon? he doesnt do crap.

hehe. I used to be an assistant manager at a Dairy Queen for a while, and I have to agree, DQ toys are bottom of the barrel most of the time. I was lucky enough to be there during the Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Promotion. Dexter in his robot exoskeleton is on my comp. They are cheap, but I like them. I havent seen the Digi toys, but I want them, unless they are crap and dont have the tamers. I wish DOOM upon the DQ people for not making good toys

Technically, it's Guardromon...Andromon is his Evolved form (which is kick ass) but Like Leomon, and Susie's Terriermon clone, I doubt it'll digivolve. I think it's to add more fuel to the Digimon theme that there's a Digimon for everyone. Cept fat kids w/glasses, cause they suck.


(I was just kidding about the last part, fueled by the fact that the only one to not get a digimon @ this point is the fat kid with glasses. I have no problems with fat kids, glasses (heck, I wear glasses), or people without digimon.)

Kenta does get a Digimon, along about #41 or so. (There are only 51 episodes in all.) It's something called a Marine Angemon. It looks like My Pretty Pony and says, "Pi-pi-pi!" instead of regular speech, even though it's a Mega. Everyone agrees Kenta picked a loser.

But its been DAMN too long since I've last seen a Digimon plushie of any kind sold in the US, and the only thing I see 'crap' about the whole thing is the fact that there isn't a single DQ for miles here. And Lordy knows I want to get me that Impmon plushie for my boyfriend!

For the record, I watch Digimon in general for the 'mons. I am crappy by default

Ok, back to the thread...The Digimon who had killed off poor Leomon, btw, is Beelzebumon, Impmon's Mega. And unless I'm mistaken, he'll be back...oh, if I'm right, he'll be back with a vengeance.

Not only does he get one of the wussiest Digimon of the entire group, MarineAngemon, his isn't supposed to even be a *MEGA*. Its a friggin' ULTIMATE. He gets a demoted Mega, he's that unlucky! Maybe it was a good thing Gomamon never got to Digivolve into him back in the Season 1 days...

Compared to the full out battles from season one, Tamers fights are unique and okay to me, just not as involving. One complaint I have is with Fox and its editing practices. Why do they white out such things as that hammer hitting Terriermon on the head, someone getting puched in the head, or edit near completely the scene (in the prior episode) when Rapidmon got shot up by Beelezemon in the episode, but in the next episode "previously on" segments or in character flashbacks, the scenes are in tact? It doesn't make much sense to go through all the trouble for the episode, when it can be seen later (if they are worried about kids seeing violence).

I am a little disappointed that Leomon got killed (he died in season one also. I guess the writers just like killling him) and that the other Tamers digimon don't/can't/won't do anything. What's the purpose of having them there then? And I'm also disappointed that Beelzemon was spared due to Jeri's insistance that killing him won't bring Leomon back. We all know it won't, but that doesn't mean he should get off scott free for what he did. If it was the old days, he would have been nuked .

That being said, I do like how the soverign was not so easily defeated. That would have been a let down as well. Why be so terrified of a creature that can be so easily put down? I'm looking forward to next week's episode (I think there is only one for now so they can stretch the season out until August).

The scene where Kenta gets a digimon is almost like it was a last minute thought, much like the epilogue to last season.

MarineAngemon tries to hump Kenta's leg, but he kicks the pony off. But to no avail. The thing suddenly pops up in his pocket later on with a D-Ark just as everyone's heading back.

As for edits.... Digimon has a fairly consistent record of some footage editting every few episodes. These range from nudity to gun use to a woman in a car propositioning "Matt". And supposedly there's an average of their dub scripts containing less than half of the original dialogue translated. Some of this includes dialogue pasted over scenes that didn't have any in the original.

It wasn't really the episodes that bugged me, it was the promotions for the episodes that bugged me. If anyone saw the promotions they do between other shows, then they probably saw the promotion where it showed Henry "Biomerge Digivolving" with Terriermon. What's interesting about that is that the screen didn't say Biomerge Digivolution, the screen said "Matrix Evolution" with the original Japanese voice to back it up. Now maybe it's just me, but if they can say Matrix Evolution in the promo, why can't they say it in the actual episode? Is the word "Digi" THAT important.

Despite all of that, I cannot wait for the final few episodes to air in America(specifically episodes 48- 51). Episode 49 is probably the best Digimon episode I've seen since episodes 49 and 50 of Digimon Adventure 02.

Because the promo was probably made before the show was dubbed. I've heard that one of the latter eps of 02 had some promos with footage not in the US cut.
