Your live anime movies(a what-if Topic)

    Like This Thread!
If you had the power to make any anime into a live-movie, which anime/animes would it be and who will you have play the main character/characters?

I would do Golden Boy and the main character, Kintaro Oe, would be played by...... Brendan Fraser or Jim Carrey.

I'm going to say I would probably make Cowboy Bebop and have Guy Pierce as Spike. And if FOX haven't of had DBZ I would of and have The Rock as Piccolo.

I would see Castle of Gogliostro movie and as much as the man displeases me Jim Carrey would be a perfect Lupin.

Hahaha, I was thinking the same exact thing yesterday, watching Golden Boy! "Gee...this would make a neat Brendan Fraser movie!"

Call me crazy, but I think a live action Yu Yu Hakusho would work nicely. Maybe if they made the characters high school students instead of mid-school. But, Yuske getting hit by the car..."death", the Baby God...heh..I think it'd all look neat in Live Action. But, thats me...

An EVA live action movie would be so awesome! Hmm, it might be neat to see Rurouni Kenshin or Gundam Wing done. But in GW, I wouldn't want to pilots to be done by girly looking guys....like DeCaprio *shudders*...I would sabotage the movie if that happened. back to the EVA idea, Antonio Banderas all the way! *drool*...and hey, I could make an awesome Asuka, seriously!

Misato(my fav character) should be played by none other than Sandra Bulock(she rules, dont question it!)

Shinji:someone like Haley Joel Osment; young enough to look the part, but good enough to do the role justice. (he is about shinji's age now)

Asuka:a young Jennifer Love Hewitt, dont ask me why. she just has that look to her that just screams "Asuka!", and she tends to be a *****, god love her

Gendo:Kevin Spacy, I dont know why

    Ritsuko: Carrie-Ann Moss

Rei:that girl that played Cindy in Scary Movie 1 and 2. she is so damn cute!

Although, I want to make it clear, I wouldnt want an EVA movie to be made unless the people making it were really devoted to making it as faithful as possible. otherwise, i would curse anyone for doing a half assed version.

Try as I might, though, I can't think of anyone cool enough to play Leona.

You're Under Arrest would make a GOOD movie. Not sure who you'd cast though...

If I had the power, I'd make sure Hollywood DOESN'T make live-action movies out of anime, or any popular cartoon for that matter. Unless the anime was REALLY REALLY bad anyway, I don't see the point of doing something that worked well already in its original form.

There are some animes though that could easily be translated into live action. You're Under Arrest is one of them, it's about a couple of women working for the Tokyo police force. And I'd LOVE to see a cameo appearance by Strikeman if they ever pulled it off. ::snicker::

Patlabor, Mobile Suit Gundam (UC Continuity), and Cowboy Bebop (with one HUGE budget).

    I've seen G-Savior. It sucks.

You all do, of course, realize that making a 90-120 minute script out of about 13 hours of source material is nearly impossible, right? I mean, all the anime movies released are either (a) just a movie or (b) side stories or conclusions/explanations of the main TV/OVA series... As fun as it might be to think of "what ifs," also realize that they've gotta condese down SOO much of the story.

I'm afraid I have to agree <shudders at idea of Spike being played by any human actor>
