Oblivion Island (Production IG's first CG film)
I'm surprised that no one has posted a thread for this I presume. Especially considering that this is the first full-CG film from Production IG (should I even post what they created?). And, surprise surprise, their first venture into the segment of animation dominated by Pixar, is a concept that seems Pixar-ian. Welcome to Oblivion Island: Haruka And The Magic Mirror. From this ANN article:
"The computer-animated feature will follow a girl named Haruka as she discovers where all of our childhood keepsakes and memorabilia go. Creatures from a different dimension gather these trinkets and forgotten treasures as their owners grow up. With their booty, the creatures have built their own city called Oblivion Island.
Hirotaka Adachi, the author better known under the pen name Otsuichi for writing the novel inspirations of the Goth live-action film and the Calling you manga, is co-writing the screenplay with director Shinsuke Sato (The Princess Blade)."
Fuji TV is co-producing this as a part of their 50th Anniversary and TOHO is distributing it in theaters.
The first two teasers and the trailer are up on the movie's website. They, along with a featurette with no subtitles, are also online at Twitch.
The animation is solid and the concept is really unique and ambitious for IG. Can't wait to see who gets this in the US.

The designs are pretty solid, and the wide spectrum of colors used is incredible. Seems a little Spirited Away on the first glance, but still, kudos for I.G.

Like Spirited Away mixed with Toy Story. Still if you gotta rip anyone off, steal from the best. And that animation is really awesome.
