Man, where'd the energy go? Barely a month after the show ended and we're seeing little to no interest in discussion. Has everyone dumped the show that quickly?
======
A while back there were shots of two Tieria figurines, a rather dashing one in his uniform and a...more scary one in drag. It looks like these are are going to be released by Banpresto later this year....disturbingly, in the 'DX Heroine' line o__o The gender debate continues....

'Tis kindof hard though to prolong discussion when there's a particularly grandiose wait time between the end of the series and the movie. The love is still there, but there's nothing yet to remarkably energize us to maintaining continuance of a discussion until perhaps something geopolitically/philosophically interesting comes about in our minds or in the series, or something interesting is dropped for the movie.
I mean come now can the same be applied to SEED (before we found out about Destiny), Geass, Macross Frontier, Gurren Lagann and so forth. Just sayin'. Although now that you mention it, I must say that Andrei dropped Louise a weeeeeeeeee bit too easily and quickly within the last couple of episodes. I mean... for episodes he's just like "CHEWIE" and she's like "RAAAAAAAGH!", then when the particles came... he kindof forgot about her or there was no scene where he accepted that it wasn't the case between him and her maybe. I dunno.
I took a break from thinking about it and am now doing so again, basically trying to get pretty deep into it. I started with an overview of the relatively superficial stuff and am intending to get a lot deeper from there...I want to examine the show's issues and also review the characters (sure to include some response to that one post and any like it) and speculate about where they stand at the end. Hopefully we'll have some interesting discussions along the way.I didn't expect much disagreement over the show's value as entertainment, but on substantive merits I doubt everyone will see it the exact same way.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
I agree. I'm mostly content with how everything ended, and although I would like to contribute more to this thread in general (not to mention I miss the mid season discussions), I just don't really have anything useful to say. Most of the conversations regarding gundam I have outside the forum =[
Yeah I kind of noticed that too, but I think everybody has a limit and Andrei probably had a personal epiphany that was like "I've been vying for this girls attention and I'm not getting anywhere, maybe its just not meant to be". Plus, Louise was giving off vibes that her heart was in a different place for awhile, so...I'd rather the attention be elsewhere than on his weird lusting tendencies, anyways. I think if he had known Louise longer than the time that she was in the military he wouldn't have let her go so easily. I doubt he ever got to know the real Louise like Saji did, either.Although now that you mention it, I must say that Andrei dropped Louise a weeeeeeeeee bit too easily and quickly within the last couple of episodes. I mean... for episodes he's just like "CHEWIE" and she's like "RAAAAAAAGH!", then when the particles came... he kindof forgot about her or there was no scene where he accepted that it wasn't the case between him and her maybe. I dunno.
Poor Andrei, he still ends the show with nobody but himself.
Yeah, I pretty much agree with Sam. He was just lusting after her based on when she first appeared. Sure he wanted to do the manly thing and protect her, etc... but throughout the series, it was shown that Louise was tougher than Andrei in a mobile suit for the most part anyway. Either way, Louise was giving off the "I hate everything. I want to kill Gundam. GUNDAMUUUUUU" for most of the series, so yeah.. I doubt Andrei got to know even a small percentage of the real Louise. That's probably why it was so easy for it to just drop off like that; there was no point to pursue it anymore with the real Louise restored.
And I don't think we discuss stuff in the thread anymore because there's really nothing else to discuss. We got it all off our chest the weeks following the finale, and for the most part -- were satisfied. Some of us are watching a ton of other stuff too. D:

After generally following the story for a while, this month we get right back to major changes.
The adaptation is up to Tieria in drag attending the party and it's during the private talk with Ribbons that the changes kick in. When Hilling shoots and introduces herself, standing with her in clear view are Anew and Divine. Memento Mori is fired on the Middle East and at the same time Revive's Gaddessa and Bring's Garazzo attack the Ptolemy. Tieria and Setsuna rush back, but there Gundams are blocked by Ali in Arche. After Tieria remembers Neil and does some damage to Arche, a hot blooded Saji arrives in the 0 Raiser flying it towards the 00.
Anew is outed earlier in the story? That's an interesting decision, it seemingly keeps her off the Ptolemy entirely unless she's captured at some point.

Yeah, this is reminding me of when they removed the ambush in the desert and had Trinity make their debut blowing up MSWAD.
One way I could see it playing out is to mix it with Tieria's doubt over following Ribbons or not. So he'd recognise Anew but not say anything until his resolve was set. At which point Anew goes nutty and we get her curtain call ep
On the plus side, lots of Anew in the chibi comics this month. Hurrah!!
Regene is looking quite fabulous in that first pic.
Chibi AlXSoma=love with some creepy moe-moe-kyun thrown in.

Someone should make up a dialogue for that pic.
