Alright, so, if the title doesn't make any sense, this thread is basically where people can go ahead and list their favorite team, group, or organization of some sort, within an anime series. Anyone may feel free to list more than one, if they want to. Just be sure to list what series they are from, to avoid possible confusion of which specific series you may be referring to. It would also be nice if you could maybe list a reason or two as to why you like them so much. Also, try to refrain from posting big spoilers, and while minor ones are no big deal, it would at least be good to give out a spoiler warning if you are going to reveal any sort of spoilers about the team.
For me, there are quite a few, but there are three sets of characters from different series, in particular, that I have found to be really interesting. They include:
(Possible Spoilers Below)
Genei Ryodan (Hunter X Hunter)- Well, these guys may seem like your typical evil crime organization of typical shounen, when you first hear about them. But, soon enough after seeing them for yourself, you will see just how unique and witty these guys are. They are also ruthless, and will do anything to get what they desire.
I mean, just look at Ubogin (also spelled as Uvogin, by some people). This guy was toying around with a bunch of guys with guns, anti-tank missiles, and sniper rifles, like they were nothing (which they pretty much were, to him). And then he beat the crap out of a bunch of elite fighters in just a few minutes, after learning how their powers worked (he actually bites part of one guy's skull off!). And he's not even the worst of the GR.
Their leader was tough enough to take on both Silva and Zeno (Killua's father and grandfather, respectively), both at once, and still hold his own in the fight. I could go on about how bad-ass, clever, and/or unique every single member who has been, or still is, a part of this organization is (or was), but then I might end up typing for the rest of the night.
Bebop Crew (Cowboy Bebop)- Well, what's not to like about these guys? They all have something unique and interesting about them, and its pretty much as simple as that. Spike has a dark past and unfinished business with a certain someone, but he also has such an awesome attitude that pretty much anyone would love. Jet has his own fair share of things in his past that aren't exactly happy, but just like Spike, he's got a lot of substance to his character, and seeing how he interacts with Spike is always very interesting to watch. Faye is basically just trying to remember her past, but in the process, also has a tendency to annoy the heck out of Spike and Jet, but as the audience, we all still like her. And, even Ed and Ein get their fare share of spotlight time.![]()
Team Urameshi (Yu Yu Hakusho)- Arguably the most likable group of characters in any anime series, ever, or at least one of the most likable. I mean, Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama pull off the team of four thing so well that it almost feels so original. Sure, we've had plenty of teams before, but its the way that these characters act themselves, and how they interact with one another, that makes them so interesting and entertaining to watch. And, of course, since I'm referring to them as Team Urameshi, as they were in the Dark Tournament, I, of course, cannot leave out Genkai, Yusuke's mentor. I love how, unlike a typical master, she's not so serious that she can't get down to Yusuke's level of insuting and trashy-talking (she at least talks to him this way, when she's trying to get a point through his head :anime: ).
I really like how Yusuke and Kuwabara, who were originally rivals, and still try to act like they are, happen to be two of the best, and most interesting pair of friends in an anime. I am basically referring to the way that they are always goofing around with one another, and playfully teasing/insulting each other, just as any good pair of friends would. Likewise, Kurama and Hiei seem to have a great understanding of one another, and I also like how they have a sense of respect for each other, as well as the rest of the team, of course.
And, this is really what essentially makes a great team, for me. On their own, the characters of Yu Yu Hakusho's Team Urameshi are awesome enough, with great personalities, strong character development, and their own internal conflicts which they each encounter and try to solve, throughout portions of the series. However, its really how they work together, and interact with each other, that makes them such a great team, and my personal favorite in any anime that I have ever seen, so far.![]()

I gotta go with the Straw Hat Pirates from One Piece. Everyone gets their own screen time and character development, unlike other teams in certain Shonen Jump series. Each one is unique with their personalities. For me it is hard to rank the 9 current Straw Hats as my favorite, since I like each and everyone of them.

I agree with both YYH's Spirit Detectives and One Piece's Straw Hats.
The YYH main four is probably my favorite ensemble cast of any series I've seen. There is just something about the individuality of each character and how they mesh with the other three that makes the team incredibly unique and such a pleasure to follow and root for through their various battles. They grow up and grow stronger and though they drift apart toward the end of the series, there is still that link between them that you just know can never be severed. That link is what makes them dangerous to their enemies and great heroes for the people they protect.
If the YYH group is my favorite ensemble cast, the Straw Hats is easily my second favorite. Though the number keeps growing, each character is so unique and has their own past, strengths, hopes and dreams that drive them. They each get screentime and have wonderful interactions with their fellow pirates. And once they start working together, they are pretty awesome. Luffy is the link that brings them together but they stay together because of the bonds they have formed. And that makes them so much fun to watch and cheer for. OP is truly about the journey, not the destination, and the cast is what makes that journey so fun to follow.
EDIT: I'd also add the Gundam Meisters from Gundam 00. They are very unique characters with their own motivations for fighting. Though it takes some time for them to really come to respect each other and work together not only as co-pilots, but like a family, that journey makes their coming together even more worthwhile once we really get it. They aren't perfect but they have strong ideals and that makes their fight all the more interesting. They also have unique strengths that play out in the differents kinds of gundams they pilot and it's fun to see how they complement each other.
Got go with the Straw Hats, espicially as they each continue to grow more and more insane, espicially Brook. He's nuts, EVEN THOUGH HE HAS NONE!!!
YOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Straw Hats & the Bebop Crew (although Ed & Ein most certainly did not get a fair share) definitly top my list. I actually have'nt seen the one piece anime yet, but I have read the manga.
Also, I'm gonna get flamed like crazy, but:
"Prepare for trouble;
And make it Double;"
Team Rocket Top my List.

I'll always love the Gutsy Geoid Guard, if only for their totally awesome English-abusing team name.
Also, Ban and Ginji from GetBackers,Team Kogarasumaru from Air Gear, Excel and Hyatt, oh and Team Stick and Balls (their name was funny) from Excel Saga, The Ginyu Force from DRAGONBALL (you can help the fact that their retarded dance is funny!!), The gang from Saiyuki, The Magic Knights and the hierarchy of Cephiro from Magic Knight Rayearth , Dejiko and Puchiko from Di Gi Charat, Ed and Al , and also the homunculi from Hagaren (FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST), The crew of Outlaw Star , The Student Council from Revolutionary Girl Utena, the Gekkostate from Eureka Seven, The Cowboy Bebop crew, Lupin III's gang, The cast of Lucky ☆ Star , The Oniwaban Group from Rurouni Kenshin , The SOS Brigade (of which I am a member) from Haruhi Suzumiya , and numerous others

Yeah, I know, and I hoping FUNimation releases it with all the other Geneon shows, or I could get the Madman R4 DVD boxset, like I'm gonna do with Steel Angel Kurumi
I think Disgaea 3 should be an anime!!
