I have some bad news and some hopeful news for Cardfight!! Vanguard fans.

    First the bad news:

Crunchyroll doesn't have the license to the second season.

    And now the hopeful news:

In a separate statement: Bushiroad (who owns the CF-V IP) states that they were "surprised that there are viewers who actually wrote about this", thinking that no one on CR was interested. They go on to say that they will "look into the matter", and see about bringing the second season to CR "as soon as possible".

All of this comes directly from CR's forums. You can view the post here, but you'll need to scroll down a little bit.

Linking a fan forum that doesn't have any specific comments from Crunchyroll or the makers of Cardfight!! Vanguard doesn't show anything other than fan opinions. However it can be assumed that CR doesn't have the rights because it hasn't announced it on their returning simulcasts or new simulcasts schedule. The thing that proves it is nothing but fan comments is the comment "We didn't think Vanguard!! was that watched on Crunchyroll." Out of all of Crunchyroll's shows through the end of last season, it was #15 on their list of most popular, and anybody who knows how CR lists their shows can find out that info.

Now, back to CR's announcements. The final series announced today is Medaka Box.

Charming and intelligent, Medaka is a martial arts master in the 10th grade: a girl of simplicity and fortitude. And what’s more, she is heiress to a mega rich family. It's no surprise she's elected as a member of the student council. Anytime you have a problem, file a complaint with her office and she will find a practical solution, even though it will be a very eccentric one.

Medaka Box will be available to stream in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
    T

That appears to be the last title for the spring lineup, unless they get some late additions. It brings Crunchyroll's simulcasts up to 30 for the spring.

Unfortunately, Queen's Blade Rebellion shown on Crunchyroll is the censored version shown on over-air outlets late night in Japan. I'm not sure if the AT-X premium channel broadcast is the uncensored version, though.

We'll probably have to wait for the home video release from Media Blasters (if they're still around!) to see the uncut version.

So many new announcements! Too many to comment on. Just as a general comment, I'm really happy to see so many, and it looks like I'll probably be watching most of them.

I don't want to spread false hope, but they have once again added this image to the http://www.crunchyroll.com/lineup between Kuroko's Basketball and Kids on the Slope. What began between airing between those two simulcasts? Cardfight!! Vanguard: Asia Circuit Hen. Also, on the front page the list of simulcasts has basically been updated to show this seasons. The only two shows not being run this season still on the front page are Bleach (which is having 1 episode uploaded every Monday with 224-265 still to be uploaded) and Cardfight!! Vanguard. Beelzebub, Gintama!, Digimon Xros Wars, and Prince of Tennis 2, to name a few, have all been removed (basically all the series that have finished their runs and can't have new episodes put up, with the exception of Xros Wars being able to put up the first half if Toei licenses that half to CR). So why is Vanguard getting this treatment? Is this an error on the half of Crunchyroll, or are they supplying hints that another simulcast is coming?

If you care to know, CR did announce 2 drama simulcasts on Monday- Taburakashi (which actually was posted last Friday to CR and announced on Monday) and The King 2 Hearts.

Maki, a young woman, comes to Tokyo with dreams of becoming an actress. However, the theatrical troupe she belonged to disbanded, and she has become burdened with 6 million yen worth of debt. Maki begins working as a stand-in actress, playing everything from a corpse to a ghost to a newlywed, but will she ever find her success as an actress?

Taburakashi will broadcast on Fridays at 7pm PDT in the following territories: U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Middle East, and South America

We also added The King 2 Hearts which will broadcast in the U.S.A.and Canada.

This drama is set in modern day where South Korea is governed by a constitutional monarchy. Lee Jae Ha is a handsome and materialistic crown prince that doesn't care about politics. He falls for Kim Hyang Ah, a North Korean special forces agent.
    http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopi...-king-2-hearts

Crunchyroll also announced The Moon the Embraces the Sun and episodes 37-46 of Love Cheer yesterday.
The Moon the Embraces the Sun
The story of the secret love between Lee Hwon, a fictional king of Joseon, and Wol, a female shaman. Wol was born from a noble family and became the crown princess, but she was entrapped and faced execution. Finally, she lived as a shaman.

    -Source from Dramawiki

    Love Cheer
After six years of marriage... Jae-mi was tricked by her husband into signing divorce papers. This drama is a story of her comeback after rebounding from a divorce! Jae-mi is a perfectionist or at least tries to be one. After her father whom she was very close with had an affair, which resulted in a divorce that shattered the family, she became wary of smart men. So she married Jung-soo who was not so bright. With her strong support, Jung-soo was able to make his restaurant business a success and he couldn’t have done it without Jae-mi. As their financial situation improves, her husband buys her three round-trip plane tickets to a tropical island as a wedding anniversary gift and tells her to have fun with her mom and aunt. Jae-mi had no idea that the trip was part of a plan by her husband to break up their marriage...

Actually, it changed to that because something happened with the simulcast for Phi Brain, and they had to remove the videos and what not from the website.

I suspected it was something like that, but I couldn't find what show had disappeared from the simulcast listing. I was unaware that Phi Brain had been removed though.

The show page is still there (http://www.crunchyroll.com/phi-brain) but it isn't listed under the P's (http://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/anime/alpha?group=p). Weird.

Weird. Hopefully that gets sorted out. I'd rather not watch another season of that on TAN after being teased like that. If there is another announcement, I'd love for it to be Hyouka or Eureka Seven AO, but I'm not getting my hopes out.

It's not a new series, and it's a couple of years old now, but Crunchyroll has acquired the rights to air the first two seasons of Digimon Xros Wars. Today they have uploaded episodes 1-5, and they will add an additional 3 episodes every Friday.

    http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopi...sodes-released

Now hopefully they'll move on to add Vanguard!! series 2, but I'm not holding my breath.

Beat me to it. I know a few people who only watch anime legally, and were either hesitant or just refused the Young Hunter series because they couldn't watch the first series.

I'm glad to hear that they're uploading Digimon Xros Wars up on Crunchyroll. It was a good series and it's nice to see that they're making it legally availble. It would have been nice if they were able to do that from the start instead of doing that with Young Hunters, but it's better than not being able to upload it at all.

t started half an hour ago, but Crunchyroll has acquired the rights to stream two older anime series- Xam'd: Lost Memories and Night Raid 1931. 2 episodes will be added each week for premium viewers while 1 episode will become available each week for free subscribers.

Starting tonight at 5:00pm Pacific Daylight Time, Crunchyroll will begin streaming the highly distinctive anime titles Night Raid 1931 and Xam'd: Lost Memories.

A-1 Pictures' (Blue Exorcist, Idolm@ster, and Space Brothers) Night Raid 1931 is a historical fiction espionage series, following a group of young Japanese agents working in China in the midst of the events that lead up to World War II.

Xam'd: Lost Memories is a Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater) production drawing from diverse inspirations from Gundam and Hayao Miyazaki to Ken Loach and Jean-Luc Godard.

Both anime series will be made available on the streaming site for US and Canadian viewers at a pace of two episodes a week, with both episodes available to premium Crunchyroll members and one available to free site users.
    http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...ight-raid-1931

In other news on Crunchyroll, this past Wednesday CR finished uploading season 1 of Phi Brain to their site, so all of season 1 is now uploaded and they add one episode each week with the season 2 simulcast.

The summer announcements have begun. Up first is Total Eclipse.

Reuniting from SHAKUGAN NO SHANA III, Total Eclipse will feature the voice talents of Kenji Hamada (Hanasaku Iroha, Bakuman) and Sayaka Ohara (XxxHOLiC, Fairy Tail). Adding to the star-studded lineup, artists Minami Kuribayashi, GRANRODEO, and ayami will also provide musical support to this animated adaptation.

"The remnants of mankind make their last stand in Alaska as two of its young pilots will face their destinies. Since 1973, an invasion of aliens known as BETA descended upon Earth, driving human civilization to near extinction. To survive, the humans created the humanoid arms team called the Tactical Surface Fighters, and deployed them to its defense lines throughout the world. However, for over the past 30 years, victory has seemed like an impossible feat to obtain.

Total Eclipse! Dates, times, and available territories have not been confirmed. More information on that coming soon.
And announcement #2 is Oda Nobuna.
A little Japanese history for you guys out there: Oda Nobunaga’s ambition was to unify all of Japan. While it was Nobunaga who initiated the unionizing process, it was his successors – Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu – who completed and fulfilled his dream of a unified Japan. However in this new anime series, we will jump to a parallel universe where Oda Nobuna – not Oda Nobunaga – a female shogun will attempt to achieve the same goal as her male counterpart.

"Ordinary high schooler Yoshiharu is sent back in time to the Warring States Period, however not the same time line that he remembers. There he meets Nobuna Oda - not Nobunaga, Nobuna. In this world, all the famous figureheads and warlords of the era are female! Nobuna teams up with Yoshiharu to help fuel her ambition and quest to rule the world…"

The Ambition of Oda Nobuna!!! Like Total Eclipse's announcement yesterday, the dates, times, and territories will be announced at a later date.

Nice, this is one of the summer shows I was looking forward to. I'm amazed at how early it was announced. Weird to see Crunchyroll dropping the "Muv-Luv Alternative" when referring to it, though. I've just been calling it "Muv-Luv Alternative", and I figured the official sources would do the same.

Wow, it's seriously that exact a copy of the plot? I know there's plenty of unoriginal anime out there, but I just couldn't believe that I was reading that.

    Title 3 is YuriYuri 2.

“Get some laughs with the return of YuruYuri!
The ‘Amusement Club’ foursome continue their unusual activities – though still not clearly defined, organized, or explained – in the illegally-occupied-by-the-club room of the former tea ceremony! While the Student Council continues to attempt to shut them down, we can all rest assured that these girls will continue to maintain the same level of laid back fun that made us all fall in love with them in the first place!”

The original cast, comprising of Minami Tsuda (Yui Funami), Rumi Ookubo (Chinatsu Yoshikawa), Shiori Mikami (Akari Akaza), and Yuka Ōtsubo (Kyōko Toshinō), will all return once again to portray the feverishly funny foursome in this light-hearted second season.

Again, like both announcements this week, the dates, times, and territories will be announced at a later date.

I love you so much, Crunchyroll. Well I didn't have much I was really looking forward to, but Crunchyroll got pretty much all of it and much more. Sword Art Online, Tari Tari, and Kokoro Connect are the ones I'm particularly looking forward to, and I'm sure I'll end up checking out most of these thanks to Crunchyroll simulcasting all of them.

Bushiroad said they'd try and get it back on Crunchyroll, and now it has finally happened. CR has announced Cardfight!! Vanguard: Asia Circuit will begin streaming with its simulcast tonight. They will upload 3 episodes a week for free viewing so all people can catch the episodes that have already aired, but the entire second season (episodes 66-78) will be made available for Premium subscribers beginning tonight.

When two voice actors from the Cardfight! Vanguard anime (Izumi Kitta and Aimi Terakawa) visited the Crunchyroll booth at our Live Stage at Anime Expo, who could have expected that they also would be announcing a new stream on CR? Alas, this happened, and details follow below…

Cardfight! Vanguard Asia Circuit will begin streaming on Crunchyroll tonight at 6:30 PDT. And to sweeten the deal -- and since the series has already started airing in Japan -- three previous episodes from the back catalog will be launched per week.

    Here’s the synopsis:

The card game “Vanguard” has swept the entire world and changed the fate of one boy. His name is Aichi Sendou. To make an impression on Toshiki Kai, a Cardfighter he deeply admires, Aichi begins to play Vanguard and soon becomes caught up in the fun and charm of the game.Through playing Vanguard, Aichi first meets his teammates-to-be, Misaki Tokura and Kamui Katsuragi, then encounters a great number of allies and rivals, his bond to them strengthening as time goes by. At one point, though, the peculiar power known as Psyqualia awakens within Aichi. It’s the ultimate power that allows Aichi to be in control of his fights by putting him in synch with the planet Cray… However, the power is too strong and Aichi becomes addicted to it, thereby losing himself.

Aichi is saved, though, by Kai, Kourin, and the other friends he’s made through playing Vanguard. Aichi gains a variety of experiences and grows tremendously as both a person and Cardfighter. At the national tournament, Aichi’s team defeats AL4, the team led by Ren Suzugamori, Japan’s strongest fighter, and wins the championship. One day not long afterwards, Aichi and his teammates receive an invitation to participate in the Vanguard Fight Circuit. They’ve broken through the shell that is Japan and want to fly through Asia, where the world’s most powerful teams are waiting for them!
Cardfight! Vanguard Asia Circuit will be available in the following territories: US, Canada, UK, Ireland

We know some of you die-hards have literally been begging to see this show made available, so you may now run around your neighborhood screaming "Cardfight! Vanguard Asia Circuit is coming to Crunchyroll!"
