Seven Deadly Sins was licensed by Netflix. It will not be streamed until April at least.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. It just hasn't been confirmed yet, so I was gave it a couple days of not being announced by anyone else after airing to be sure.

Another series looking extremely unlikely to inspire me to stick with it in any way.

Crunchyroll announced that they would be streaming "Bonjour! Sweet Love Patissierie", and that they'll be adding Ultraman Max, its first tokusatsu series to their catalog (CR mentions, however, that they'll be classifying it as "drama", even though it isn't, unlike their other two acquisitions, Future Diary and Switch Girl).

However, the biggest news would have to be the addition of Detective Conan (1996-present; this is an important point) to its simulcast lineup. I personally didn't expect this announcement. Also, I'm using the original name because since this will be the Japanese version with subtitles, that means we'll be seeing both the original name of the show as well as hearing the original names of the characters (e.g., "Shinichi", rather than "Jimmy" Kudo), regardless of what the subtitles may say. Also, IMHO, the chances of older episodes being added are slim, since it has been around for so long (beginning in 1996, it predates the One Piece anime by three years). OTOH, stranger things have happened...

Cartoons aren't "just for kids"...but they're not just for adults either. They're for everyone.

I'll give the series a gander if the subtitles are actually reflective of the words being spoken. It would be grossly stupid of TMS Entertainment to insure otherwise.

Not particularly high hopes for either of the others announced, but good to see them anyway. Case Closed, though... may have to start watching that at episode 700-whatever. Very interesting.

When it comes to back episodes of Detective Conan, I'm guessing CR will wait and see how popular the simulcast is before taking the plunge. 750 episodes is a hella big commitment and will take a lot of resources to subtitle.

There might be some red tape with the first 130 episodes, too, with Funi streaming those. Similar to how CR can only stream One Piece episodes that Funi already has on their website.

Regardless, Detective Conan finally getting a simulcast is super freaking cool. It's episodic enough that starting in the 700s won't cripple your viewing experience anyway.
