1. The only Gundam I have seen is G, SEED, the first half of Destiny, and 00. I want to get around to the older stuff, I just haven't.
2. Mirai Trunks was the entire reason I started watching DBZ, but I still haven't seen/read the end of the Cell saga.
3. I didn't originally like Kurama. It wasn't until the "Flowers of Blood" episode that I really changed my mind and became a Kurama fangirl. And yes, I like him more than Sasuke (who actually comes in at #3 on my list now).
4. I'm perhaps the only non-yaoi fangirl in existence.
5. Eva never appealed to me. I found it a chore to sit through most of it and only finished it so I could know what people were talking about when it came up.
6. I own a Naruto headband, but I don't wear it.
I really wanted to like that show, but couldn't. I found many of the stories charming, but there was so much fanservice that it ruined the whole thing for me. It was hard to follow the blossoming romance when its interrupted by the glasses chick tripping over everything in a maid outfit. I thought it was one thing when I saw the trailer and the first episode, but by the episodes in volume 2 I realized it was almost Love Hina with a better story. What's weird is that its a harem show, but it isn't because Kaoru and Aoi are joined at the hip and that's never ever left in doubt. So it has all of the flaws and none of the strengths of the genre...such as they are, anyway.posted by Speedy Boris:
I enjoyed Ai Yori Aoshi and its sequel, Enishi. The characters and stories were simple but charming and Tina, probably my favorite character in the series, even got some character development throughout.
Try Gundam 00 once it gets released.
My advice is to try anything, you never know. Sometimes popular anime/anime on TV are great, sometimes they really aren't...I've found that it pays to give both "mainstream" and niche titles a chance.
Fantastic, HellCat has a new friend.5) G Gundam is still my favorite Gundam series. Yes, it even out shines Gundam Wing.
Well, they were/are kids after all. You're a harder fellow than I, I couldn't help but feel sorry for them.8) Full Metal Alchemist bored me to tears. To much emotional drama. To much drama period. "For god sake Ed stop crying about mom, she died it sucks, your brother walking tin can, you're missing an arm. Boo-hoo, dry your tears and drop you balls for the love of god."
Hey, don't worry, I used to WATCH Fushigi Yugi. I bet the comic is far better.11) I use to read Fushigi Yugi. I think thats a confession on its own.
Yup. There are plenty of anime that have just as much action and not nearly as much suck.12) Air Gear was going to be my next favorite anime series but the fan service threw me off. I don't mind a few nude shots every now and then, hell they need the ratings, but when your show caters to ever fan on the spectrum, from horny little boys to rabid yaoi fan girls your just trying too hard.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
It was quite fun but not laugh out loud funny, and it certainly wasn't better than what I skipped...buying more of it didn't seem like a good way to use my money. Also Galaxy Angel has now been made a franchise of sorts and milked for all its worth, so I don't feel like supporting that these days. If I were to buy a comedy today it'd be Slayers, which I haven't gotten around to owning yet.

Another confession, I like the End of Evangelion movie.
Well, let's see if this is a shock to anyone here...
1. I actually enjoyed the Naruto manga and buy the new volumes, but have never seen a full episode of the TV show. Go figure.
2. Evangelion is anime's version of Watchmen, critically acclaimed, important to the medium (that is, animated television programs), but copied far, far, far too often.
3.I'm...gonna...second this, mostly because I enjoyed the parody aspect of it all.-I..... liked Jungle De Ikou.
4. I've been hoping for the day where strong protagonists would once again shine over weak, subverted, overly depressed male leads that are either fodder for a supporting female character or sacks of emotional issues.
5. Tenchi Muyo was a good concept that spiraled out of control into mediocrity. The TV series adaptation went straight to hell when Kiyone was introduced and immediately won the "Most beloved character without a point to her existence" award. Meanwhile, I haven't been able to bring myself to complete the third OVA.
6. If you wear a Naruto headband and Tapout shirt in public, I WILL call you out on it. I will ask you where you train, and I will embarrass you in front of your friends for not realizing what that shirt stands for, as well as the utter contradiction of the headband and that brand.
For some reason, I could care less about any other anime accessories other than this combination.
7. On that topic, Hajime no Ippo and its refreshing, somewhat realistic take on boxing and the athletes which undertake the endeavor > most sports and fighting animes where the main point is to get revenge on some doofus or save the world with your sport...somehow. It's my hope one day mixed martial arts get a treatment more akin to Ippo than Grappler Baki.
8. Still love Grappler Baki though, but it should have ended a while ago. I never agree with someone dragging out a story just because.
9. It gets hard for me to care about changes to what is essentially a toyetic kids show (Pokemon voice actor changes? So?). Making something with content a toyetic kids show however, that's something else.
10. I find my expectations for shows lowering significantly if Adult Swim is airing them for some reason. Ever since Eureka 7 came out.
And finally...
11. I loved Uruesi Yatsura. The ending is the reason I hate Rumiko.
1. Despite my dissapointment in its squandered potential, I have pre-ordered each and every SEED Destiny DVD and own just about all the SD kits from it. I'll also admit that if the women were useless fanservice, at least they were mostly good fanservice.
2. Most of the series that everyone else raves about hold no interest for me. Especially Shonen Jump stuff which is full of cliches.
3. One Piece is underrated by the majority and overrated by its fans.
4. Excel Saga is worth a chuckle or two but is far from the comedic master piece many claim.
5. I enjoy Galaxy Angel but have little to no interest in Galaxy Angel Rune. Galaxy Angel worked well because despite starring cute females it avoided being a fanboy show and gave us some good comedy.
6. Princess Mononoke has great visuals but no characters I could invest in. This may well be the fault of the English dub.
7. Current Trendy Anime is not the shining becaon of human culture, no matter how many GIF avatars you may have from it.
8. Groundbreaking though it may be, Tomino Gundam has too many useless tag along kids.
9. People who preach SD Gundam Force is nothing like earlier SD Gundam desperately need to look at SD Gundam Warring States, SD Gundam Sidestory, G-ARMS, Super G-ARMS and 'Musha, Knight, Command: SD Gundam Scramble'
10. Should a series become popular, woe betide you if you aren't watching it with everyone else as every suprise, plot twist and character development will be publically ruined by every idiot with a keyboard and net connection.
1. Gundam 0080 is the best Gundam related series of all.
2. I didn't like Perfect Blue. The last line is cringe worthy.
3. I love End Of Eva.
4. Dragon Ball is superior in every way to Z and it annoys me that it isn't even half as popular.
5. Digimon Season 3 > The franchise as a whole.
6. I enjoyed both Onegai Teacher and Twins.
7. I liked Shaman King's dub, for the most part.
8. Sometimes, I enjoy watching Pokemon.
9. The newer dub of Akira is far better than the old one.
10. Name changes in localization rarely ever bother me.
11. Yu Yu Hakusho > Hunter X Hunter. In every conceivable way.
12. I hate Blastoise and don't care for Squirtle, but Wartortle is my favorite pokemon. Not bad for someone who hasn't been interested in the series since Red/Blue, huh?
13. Tenchi would be better if it had focused on one series instead of spinning off so many damn times.
14. I badmouth sports anime, but I have a few guilty pleasures in the genre.
15. I still love Ninja Scroll as much as any anime I've seen since.
Wow. Who hates me now?
1.) I absolutely hate One Piece and fail to understand why it's so popular. I tried to watch it a few times but found it to be boring.
2.) The majority of Shounen is over rated and half of the series aren't actually as good as people make them out to be.
3.) I believe that Makoto Shinkai is better than Miyazaki
4.) I am a hard core yaoi fangirl.
5.) I absolutely hate fanfiction of any kind and I dislike most fanart.
6.) The Yugioh 4kids version didn't bother me like it bothered the rest of the world. I don't like the show but it certainly wasn't because of the edits or the VA's.
7.) I really liked Gundam Wing
8.)I prefer dub over sub unless it's Ouran. Which will always be sub<3
9.) I have watched Ikki Tousen in all of it's female cleavage horror.
10.) I haven't seen all of DBZ
11.) I have spoiled myself ahead of time for almost every anime I have ever watched.
That is completely and utterly false. You have no idea what yaoi consists of if you honestly think that every series follows that format. They are few and far between, and most worth while yaoi manga's are volumes long and consist of think plot and romance- not just 'sex'. You won't find much 'boy toys' unless your reading a one shot. It's comments like that which give yaoi such a bad name. There are artists in the yaoi world as popular as Kishimoto for those of us fangirls who know they exist. The genre consists in a whole new line of manga.I despise most Yaoi. Mostly because the characters are almost always these skinny, androgynous boy toys getting 'dominated' by other slightly less skinny, slightly less androgynous men. Uke and Seme need to go straight to hell, bring on some bears or some jocks, something, yaoi needs more freaking meat to it...

2: Name names! I am curious, especially about non-SJ stuff (since I can guess about the SJ series)
3. On the overrated part would you say its overrated as "best anime EVER!" or as the best shonen? If the latter, I'm curious which you like better.

I like everything tenchi including GXP. Your not alone in liking the spin off shows more than the ova. In fact, there are many fans that would agree with you.I love, Love, LOVE Tenchi Muyo! Universe, and Tokyo
Tobi: "Tobi's a good boy."
Zero: "Be crushed to dust you relic."
Magneto: "The brave are always the first to die."
I don't know...this is anime territory, but the ads for Wallflower alone are enough to scare me far, far away. Also saw an episode of Gravitation once and it wasn't anything I'd want to go back to. I don't like shows that live and die on some specific appeal, be it yaoi or yuri or all the various harem show stereotypes.
One Piece is something that pays off the longer you watch it...the scope and scale continues to expand, and its as much or more about fun-loving adventure than it is about shonen fighting. The fighting is just another part of the whole thing. It admittedly isn't a show where you think "best anime ever" at first, but then later you look back at how things have gone and you think "...whoa." To me, anyway.1.) I'm gonna go one step further and risk skewering.
I hate everything I've seen from Satoshi Kon except Paranoia Agent. It's all incredibly shallow, vapid, and has no interesting characterization. The only exception being Paranoia Agent where characters were the focal point of the show. I have no idea why people give Death Note such flak, but turn around and praise this guy for basically doing the same thing. At least Death Note has some interesting characters.
Here's one. Though i like VIZ and I appreciate what they put out, I will always keep in the back of my mind how they never finished not one but both Megaman series (NT Warrior and Star Force). Especially considering the fact that they never said anything about it. It just kinda irritates me you know? (unless someone wants to fill me in about something in the future)
Oh and the flip-flopping of uncut DVD's (some series get uncut releases and some don't) is really beginning to bug me

1. I like Shinji from Evangelion. I also think the original ending is better and more powerful than End of Eva.
2. I'm indifferent to Gundam and don't find it to be that interesting of a franchise.
3. I think Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke are good, in fact very good, but aren't masterpieces like some claim.
4. I used to like Makoto Shinkai more, but I've sort of changed my opinion on him. He's great at making this visual poetry but his stories and dialogue feel clunky in comparison (barring the 2nd part of 5cm Per Second). He's not the "new Miyazaki".
5. Akira Toriyama is at his best with goofy and fun series like Dr. Slump.
6. Dragon Ball is much better than Dragon Ball Z.
7. A lot of Shonen Jump series aren't as great as people make them out to be.
8. Code Geass isn't that good.
9. xxxHolic is better than Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles, though the latter is more popular.
10. Edward from Cowboy Bebop is awesome.
11. Osaka from Azumanga Daioh may just be the best anime character ever.
12. I think a lot of people forget about the tongue-in-cheekness and satirical elements of Ouran High School Host Club, and without them, it certainly wouldn't be as much fun.

*agrees* XD8. Code Geass isn't that good.
It's entertaining, but nothing I'd cry home and write an essay about.
i use to think it was AMAZING, but then i tried watching it again on Adult Swim, and it was nowhere near as good as it was the first time i watched it, in fact, i couldnt watch it, it seemed crappy and bad, so i stoped watching.
i find its one of those series you can only enjoy watching once.

"Politics always takes vengeance on those that belittle it"
"Perfection is nothing but a dead end"
Continuing my list....
7) Usually,I prefer manga to anime, even if I like both versions of the story (exceptions are Naruto,Yu Yu Hakusho, and Fullmetal Alchemist, where I prefer the anime)...
8) I mostly watch dubs...for some reason,I don't enjoy watching anime in Japanese with subtitles as much...
9) I only really like the Pokemon video games, and haven't seen the anime in years (though I still like Team Rocket)
10) I've never understood why anime fans need to bash western animation...There's no need to limit yourself to just anime when there's plenty of great series/movies on both sides of the world...
11) I kinda wish Iruka (Naruto) got more screen time...Tatsuki (Bleach) too...
