Finally, R-16 has a release date. Awesome.

    Is Silent Mobius any good?
Izzy Mandelbaum: How 'bout that, huh? The WORLD'S greatest dad. My son made it for me.
    Jerry: That's very nice.
Izzy Mandelbaum: The best in the world! Which means I'm better than just number one.
Jerry: Well, I don't know how official any of these rankings really are.

I saw it on TechTV. It kinda has a non-ending which subtracts some points, but the characters are really likable and the overall plot is good.

Yeah but as Beat mentioned it has no ending. A side effect of it being made a decade ago before Kia Asamiya finished the manga five years later.

Also the animation takes a huge drop after the first episode.

Indeed. The series was one of a few made around the time that anime started making the transition to digital animation, and consequently ended up as a mish-mash of traditional cel animation for some scenes and CG for others. AD Police was another one that did this, and it was similarly quite jarring there as well.

In any case, it's good to see Silent Mobius is still being made available, although I am much more looking forward to the two movies that were announced as being licensed by Bandai Entertainment last year. I wonder if they'll resurrect the pre-existing Streamline dub for the first one?

Silent Mobius, again. Well, it's pure profit for them at this point.

To be fair though, some of the problems with Silent Mobius' cel-animated scenes has more to do with video quality than artwork/animation quality. As with Eva, a proper HD remaster could make the series look a lot better than it does now.
