Link Now Becomes A Manga Character

According to ANN, VIZ Media has confirmed that the 20s something Link now has become a Manga character, based on the long running franchise of the same name; Legend of Zelda.

The North American retailer Right Stuf is listing a manga version of The Legend of Zelda from the publisher Viz Media. Simon & Schuster's retail website lists the author of the release as Akira Himekawa. Himekawa is actually a pen name for two creators who drew over half a dozen manga works that were based on Nintendo's popular fantasy game franchise. Their first Zelda title was a 2000 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The Viz Media release wil ship on October 7.

I wonder if this will open doors to other Nintendo based Manga... I know Koro Koro comics runs Mario and Kirby from time to time (the one time I read it, actually, and they usually have Mario on the cover).

I read a fan-translated version of the Ocarina manga years ago on some Zelda website; it was pretty good. Of course it wasn't very accurate (Young Link meets Young Zelda in the market instead of in the castle), but the American comic version of Zelda was significantly less so!
