I know the press release said this will have an "original story", but I hope this one uses more of the established characters of the RE/Biohazard franchise.
It's about freaking time. Still, I wonder if the voice acting will be in english or not...CAPCOM and Sony Pictures Entertainment of Japan have announced on October 29 a joint project to produce Biohazard: Degeneration, a fully computer-animated film in the Biohazard horror franchise (known as Resident Evil in North America and Europe). Sony Pictures Entertainment of America has already produced live-action films based on the franchise. The computer-animated movie will be an original story. The videogame franchise established the survival horror subgenre of games and have sold 33 million copies worldwide. Each of the three live-action films have earned over 100 million dollars in worldwide box office receipts.

If it gets released before or at the same time as Resident Evil 5, i would imagine the story going along with the new game, or it could be about Jill, seeing how she hasnt been in a game since 3...
Part of a podcast that likes old school anime, but will find something to dislike about it. And we talk about other stuff.

Let us hope it has nothing to do with the Paul Anderson movies.
Yes. And I was just toying with this idea with someone too. :anime:
That was the first thought I just had. The second thought: "I hope they're using people from the RE Universe* and not an all new cast."
*as in, ANYONE is fair game.

I wonder if Edward "The Reptile" Carnby will make a background cameo?![]()
"Burning Man"? I think you mean "Burning Urethra" -- that place is a massive colony of venereal diseases being nurtured by their human servants. -zombie
There's another Edward? I only know Edward "The only Bravo team member to make a kick ass entrance...and exit"
Okay, kidding aside, I'm both happy and disappointed. I hated the live action movies so the move to CGI made me feel slightly relieved. However, I would have preferred a Biohazard anime, considering most Capcom games have received the anime/manga treatment.
*Sigh* But if this is the move Capcom's going to make, then please, for the love of the fans---make it based on the games and not the books!

Huh, that's interesting. I never heard of Alone in the Dark... So that makes two survival horror games RE was was based off of. (I think the other was a NES game released only in Japan called "Sweet Home". Stuff such as the cinematic sequences of doors being opened and character profiles were just about copied to the T.)
Yeah... so much for originality, huh?But still, I remain a big fan of the series.

Well Sweet Home was made by Capcom so it's really more a predecessor of RE.
If you don't believe me about or know about Alone in the Dark it's not that hard to find a copy and DOSBox it.
