This is the talkback thread for "Hellsing Ultimate" Vol. 1: This DVD Runneth Over... With Blood.

I'm a bit surprised that the dubbing crew keeps sticking with Arucard. Isn't it supposed to be Alucard?

Anyways, Alucard would make more sense in this case.

The show looks good, I'll put it on my list to eventually pick up.

Chris, in the english dub, they keep his name as "Alucard". I have no idea why they still keep it as "Arucard" in the subs. My theory is that Konami owns the rights to the name "Alucard" and that Hirano may had used the R in place of the L to avoid trademark infringement. That, or he's just ignorant of the proper spelling.

Good review, but aren't we a wee bit late in the game for the Vol. 1 review? By now, people would be putting up reviews of Vol. 2.

Thanks for the tip. I usually do my reviews based on the subbed version (just briefly checking out the performances on the English dub), so I took the character names from there. I was surprised because I too thought the name was "Alucard."

Well, there are a couple reasons for this, but the main one is I kept putting it off to do other reviews.

As for Vol. 2, I don't remember who has it but I believe it was shipped out to a reviewer in the last few weeks.
