Just by those characters, heres hoping no "Emo SEED-Like" characterizations.
I wonder if this takes us back to Wing type feel.

Too many Gundams, I feel.
Gundams are suppose to be costly!

I really like the character designs, it's great to actually get some diversity back into the franchise again, looks like a mix of Yun Kouga and CLAMP's work. Of course I doubt CLAMP would be involved, but it would be interesting to see them in a Gundam series. The Gundams themselves look a lot more basic than the SEED Gundams looked off the bat, I hope that means we won't have uber owning of enemies every other episode.
Sweet, the promo looks nice, although it definitely has a SEED look to it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Here's hoping this is a good series. With this and the SEED movie coming, we've got some nice Gundam coming down the pipe, and we're finally seeing Bandai's 3rd pillar.
I just hope that it is absolutely nothing like that horrendous Wing series.
Zeta had 6 Gundams, by my count. Not to mention several other unique Mobile Suits that might not have been 'Gundams', but served the same basic purpose.
Well, well...we've got a new kid on the block now.
I also hope they don't screw things up. So far it looks rad, but I'm not making any guesses quite yet.
Indeed. Likewise, I thought Cagalli was a guy *gets mauled* I learned I was wrong, I learned I was wrong!!
It's alot more credible to have a team rather then one posterboy. From what little info we have, a group of Gundams is relevant because we're dealing with some sort of team. Should the show itself have Gundams out the yin yang, I may agree.
A second Wing-esque show? We should be so lucky.posted by Kuwabaratheman:

Anyhow, no problems here with the team angle. Characterization tends to be stronger across the board that way, and of course the more pilots the more unique Gundams.
Speaking of Gundams the second one is probably my favorite. The blue & white motif has been done, but I like it. And its got a sword.
I want to say the fourth one with the huge cannon makes me think of the Gundam Mark II from Zeta, but so much of it is obscured by that oversized weapon its kind of hard to tell.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson

A Wing-like series with better characterisation and balance could work well. It could certainly improve chances internationally. The feeling I'm getting is we'll be introduced to a pre-established team, with any needed backstory to be told in flashbacks. If we're lucky, any cliches will be swept up into Unicorn (not that that series doesn't have some nice ideas).
What do you mean 'we'?
Anyways, I don't mind the aspect of a team of young pilots, but at least keep the military angle of real Gundam series in, and make the pilots more vulnerable, and Gundams not almighty. Hell, even Destiny had ZAKUs fighting evenly against Gundams when piloted by the right person.
Yeah, just make sure it avoids Destiny's problem of getting too many characters and losing focus. Then again, Code Geass has a larger cast than Destiny, and has balanced it well so far. So it could work. I'm just a bit on edge after how Destiny kind of lost focus.Anyhow, no problems here with the team angle. Characterization tends to be stronger across the board that way, and of course the more pilots the more unique Gundams.
It could be that they just want to keep Fukuda/Morosaw focused on CE, but I do get the feeling that Bandai aren't quite happy with their screw ups, hence new staff for 00.
It could go either way, I suppose.
But it wouldn't really make sense to have the CE staff doing a new series, especially with CE still going on.
I'm glad this new series will have a new staff, even though I do generally like Fukuda (I feel like the majority of the issue lies with Morosawa).
