Vote for the American Anime Awards

    Like This Thread!
    http://www.americananimeawards.com/

I'm a a bit dissapointed at the list of nominees honestly...

Most notably that the best manga section didn't include One Piece while it did include Bleach, Naruto and Death Note. *shakes fist*

They don't completely forget about the past though you can vote for stuff related to Voltron and Astroboy among other oldies and lesser known titles.

Also we may finally know what the first US Naruto opening was saying as they list it as "Rise: Tsuyoso". So I guess it's tsuyoso. Anyone got a translation of that?

Honestly, at this point, Bleach, Naruto, and Death Note ARE better than One Piece. The Kuro arc is great, but not groundbreaking, the Arlong arc is great too, and the manga probably just started on Little Garden when the nominations were due. Compare that to Bleach, Naruto, and Death Note, which were firmly entrenched in the Soul Society arc, the Chunin Exam finals, and Light executing his latest plans, One Piece comes up a bit short.

As for the awards themselves, some of these are pretty hard. Rise just beat out Heart of Sword in the best theme category, and if the Lucario movie was released in widescreen with the Japanese language and without those annoying script changes, I'd have probably nominated it over the FMA movie (Though I believe Munto 2 tops both of them). I also voted for Lupin III VAs in the individual categories, yet gave Gits 2nd GIG my vote for Best Overall Dub. And while we're complaing about Best Manga, where the hell is Tsubasa!?

    Yea thats what i thought...

Well, honestly, i dont know 80% or so what they have listed there, but the ones i knew what to vote for were Record of Lodoss war for both short and long series (i never fully seen the TV series, but hey its Lodoss war, it rocks either way).

others i was like "oh i heard of that one, ill pick that".

Yea, these people dont know anything...

Yeah, Akira being placed under comedy weirded the heck out of me.

I wasn't too familiar with most of the stuff in the categories. Most of my votes went towards stuff like FLCL, Berserk, and Akira since I am more familiar with those.

I am quite surprised, and happy, that Alien Nine got recognition.

If it's not here, then it's over there. But if it's not over there, then where is it?

No Gundam at all? Not even a nod for Destiny's packaging?

At least I was not the only one who was confused about the lack of YYH and Gundam. Some of the choices really did not make sense. I recall that Eureka Seven has no opening that shares the same name as the series. There were other things that I recall were off, but I can remember them. Oh well, back to my binge watching.

Where are the seiyuu choices? After all, some of us don't listen to no stinking dubs.

Anyway, its a bizarre list to be sure.

Personally, it stinks of too many 'trendy' titles.

Sigh... And once again, One Piece is disregarded. It should've at least gotten a nomination.

Anyways, nice to finnally find out what Naruto's first dub opening is called.

Iam on board with Hellcat's idea.

I agree with RIANMAN on DBZ, I mean come on, that's one of the reasons why anime is such a big hit in America.

Also, KuwabaraTheMan, what did you expect PoT just came out a few months ago, and they don't watch Jetstream.

I would of like to see Case Closed nominated for something.

About Akira, last time I remember, seeing a dog get shot into pieces during the movie isn't comedy.

Just to note: According to the site, all the nominations are from the companies and sponsors themselves, not the webmasters or anything, which probably explains a lot of the choices (I kinda doubt it was Bandai who nominated Eureka Seven).

I voted last week, and while I can't recall all of my choices, I know that a few of them were FLCL, Zatch Bell and Voltron. Oh, and for best actress, of course, I went with my girl Melissa Fahn.
    Weird quote of the moment

    YYYYAAAAAYYYY!!!!!

I was three of the movies before they were dubbed.
