Inu-Yasha
Hey, I don't know how many Manga readers we have here, but I was just questioning the latest "big-thing", Inu-Yasha? Who's read it? Who's heard of it? One of my friends got me hooked on it about a year ago. So far, I've read through Volume 6., & I gotta say, this is one of my favorites!!
Anyway. Apparently the animated series is "all the rage" in Japan. It should be hitting American shores this Spring or summer(I don't know who has the license, though).
But, with all of Inu-Yasha's popularity..I wish they'd make some friggin' action figures. Sure, they have toys, & collectable stuff...but I want a fully loaded 12" Inu-yasha, with his fang sword, fully articulated, and all that good stuff. Hehehehe...
Long live the half-demons!
My tremendous intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled...

Yes, apparently it is a rather popular show in Japan. Well, it's a Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatsura, Ranma, Maison Ikkoku...) work, who is one of the 5 richest women in Japan and her name should be at least familiar to any suburban Japanese person.
However, the animated series wouldn't make it on children's TV. Too violent. It would be nice for Adult Swim, I guess, but it doesn't seem to fit the theme of that block, either.
Anyway, Viz Video has the rights to the TV series, I think.
For thos wanting to know what the show looks like, here's a website:

I like Inu-Yasha! ^_^
When my cousin stayed in Japan over the summer, she brought me back some Inu-Yasha manga. The only problem is it's in Japanese, but she translated some of it for me and I found some sites with translations so I know what's going on. Also, I watched her DVD of the first episode, but it wasn't sub-titled in English like she thought it would be when she bought it.
It's a good thing she could understand enough to tell me what they're saying. ^_^;;
I really like the series and I hope when it gets dubbed whoever dubs it will do a good job. I'd really like to see the anime version since I've read through most of the manga!
You want to know what I want? I really want to find me an Inu-Yasha shirt. I like anime shirts and I've searched through some sites that sell them, but I guess nobody's made any Inu-Yasha shirts yet. :\
