Apparently we're officially in season 2, this being the second episode of it. Yash included the episode numbers in last weeks talkback when he covered for me, so I thought I would continue with his good idea. Notice the difference? Doesn't take a math major, I can tell you that.

Can't wait to see how 4Kids will handle Hirilluk's umm..... scene.




If they edit it well..... It wouldn't be surprising.

But if they don't edit it... It's official. 4Kids is Chopper's whiping boy.


"Freaky" was amazingly handled well.... Let's just hope for this episode to be the same.


We don't want another "Belle of the Brawl".

Haha they still edited the explosion.

Also the choice of words between some of the conversations destroyed a lot of the drama.

Gotta say... This is pretty much the best episode in the whole dub (not that that means much)



Hirilluk's suiside was kept (they edited the explosion though). That's gotta be a 4Kids first. Also there was talk about BULLETS and even a DYING (granted Dalton was talking about their contry, but still)


Of course it wasn't as impactful without "Ana Maria" playing in the backround.... But whatever. I'm just glad 4Kids kept to the script.

The scene where he was trying to get Dr.Kureha to tutor him after Hiruluk's death just...bleah.

And how many scenes did they cut, I only caught the end.

And how many scenes did they cut, I only caught the end.

I rated the episode *** because I thought that they would edit out a whole lot more than what they did (like the suicide, the poisonous mushroom, ect).

A good yet sad episode. Chopper's life really sucks and their was no way to save Dr.Hiruluk even if he had gotten the right mushroom.
That aside looks like it's Luffy vs. Warpol/Waffle next week.

It's kind of distracting knowing that some impactful things were edited but, still a nice episode.

I can't wait till the Straw Hat crew go to town on Wapol. But what the hell is Kureha doing to them in the next episode what a crazy chick.

I think that the whole character of Wapol feels... tagged on. It's as if Oda was finished writing drum, then his editor said that he needed a villian. Out of ideas, Oda decided to throw thogether the most random chatacter he could, and called it the villian.

Yeah, that's my thoughts on him.

I like Wapol.
Mainly since hes no threat whatsoever....so tagged on or not he helps Drum feel less cliche....One Piece has too many powerful tyrants. One should at least be weak.


Another thing, many of the next episode scenes were.....from the arcs epilouge....(Dr.Kureh finding Sanji and Nami hiding from her...)

And those two episode titles seem coherent to the original episode events so... I suspect no merging.

IMO Walpol is one of the coolest villains in the One Piece Universe ever. Sure he doesn't look that tough and went down easy when going up against Luffy and the crew, but he could pose a bigger threat to other pirates in the show they came across so far. Not to mention his ability to eat anything and use it is just like Bolt Crank from EATMAN. So he's a very powerful adversary.

You'll get a better idea about him when you watch the next couple of episodes. Yet Oda seemed to really lack creativity with using his powers to his full potential.
