  • Two mistakes so far today. First I didn't put "Talkback" in the title, then this. Super.

So, more of the same. If you didn't already know, 4kids is apparently skipping a minor arc that they have no reason to skip. Probably to get to the next island, where they get a new crew mate.

Not really feeling it tonight, so I'm done talking. Bicker amongst yourselves.

I wouldn't call Little Garden a minor arc. Short, yes. But not minor. It has quite a large effect on Usopp's character development, as well as Vivi's recognition of just who Luffy and his crew are.

Of course, 4Kids fears three dimensional characters...

Okay, 4Kids hates three dimensional anime characters.

We all know there's only one part of a character's "development" that Al Kahn likes anyways.

Lighten up on the "Kahn is a perv" talk. As much as I hate the guy I don't believe such bashing is appropriate. But the only kind of development 4kids wants is in TMNT.

Well they already BSed how they got the Eternal Pose for going to Alabasta (anyone else notice that Igharam's Eternal Pose said "Alabasta" on it?) so I guess they'll just have them getting out of Whiskey Peak and having a very brief encounter with Miss All Sunday and then Nami will get sick and then we're at Drum island looking for a Doctor. Judging from the next few titles it seems once they get to Drum they'll slow down the story a bit and not cut out large chunks (at least at first). Which is a nice change of pace.

    Not to mention THIS:

as well as the fight with these two:

I'll get more later if anyone else doesn't beat to it. (Or if I actually care enough.)

EDIT: Damn, she really does have a southern accent. I shouldn't have denied the Australian reports. Oh well, and it's just Miss Sunday now. No all involved.

And Ussop and Sanji making rhymes about her transport? Ooooookay. BTW, when does she get to pull out the multiple arm deal? And what the well was Sanji doing holding a sword just now?

So wait, how exactly did Nami get a newspaper anyway? In the skipped over Little Garden arc? Because that's something I was wondering, and I'm sure the kids might be wondering too (then again, if they are as avergly brights as the ones who write on those shout outs "Sonic is the coolest! I'm his number one fan!", then maybe they aren't). So was anything skipped from

    Spoiler:
    The Drum Island arc

So far? Just wanted to know, since episode wise we're about 48 although like 30 or so episodes have been skipped.

This was a pretty good episode though. I liked the various interactions between the crew in the second half espically. (Man Luffy really is dense if he believed Nami was well just like that). And next week, Luffy gets chomped up as the crew gets boarded yet again.

I found the compass explanation a bit confusing. Luffy destroyed the one Miss Sunday offered him but did they also lose the one Igaram had? Also where did Vivi get a second one from? Wouldn't they be pretty hard to come by?

    Spoiler:
In the last episode didn't Zoro tell Nami go get the compass Igaram was carrying when the ship exploded from the water? From what I remember she said she did but in this episode they said they lost it.

    Yay for Funimation One Piece

I have not read this far in manga but I tuned in to see if the dub was as bad as they say it is. This episode seemed pretty good. Sanji VA is getting better, and Zolo and Luffys VA got their act down, I didn't hear enough out of Ussop so I'll reserve judgement until then. The whole compass thing got kinda confusing but other than that I enjoyed it. One question though in the next week episode it showed them in a snow area. I remember hearing they originally edited out a filler like this. Is next weeks that episode?

OK, in the arc that was skipped over, Sanji finds the hut of Mr.3, he has a "phone" conversation with Crocodile (Mr.0) and takes out the Unluckies (Mr.13 and Miss Friday) He then finds Mr.3's Alabaster compass and that's what they use to get to where they're going. BUT 4Kids didn't want you to know that ^___^

Tuned in to see this after a long while, and damn. I had heard, but, yeah, they skipped alot. Dumb right there. And God, Sanji is not getting better for me. He sounds like he gave head to a freakin' porcupine.

Southern accent... I knew it. Veronica Taylor is a bit unexpected but I guess she sounded okay. In time I think it'll probably sound fine.

Usopp saying Miss All Sunday (All ommited) a jerk was funny.

Sanji and Luffy sounded awful in this episode and Sanji's accent is so heavy you could hardly tell what he was saying. "Giouls", "Tioudle" and "Vegadables" (which BTW reminded me of how Rocksteady said turtles) and so on. And Luffy's screeches are really getting grating on the ears.

A mysterious fever from just being on the Grand Line instead of a bug bite? Bah... Stop BSing the story 4kids!

What have they done to Mr. 2?!?!?!? Egads no. Why didn't they use Eric Stuart. Why why why?!?!?!?

After calling it Alabaster once they called it Alabasta every time after. Odd to change it but after calling it Alabaster but I guess I'm glad I did.

I got a chuckle out of a very Duel Masters like "Maybe I should switch arms".

Sigh... when does the hurting stop?

In the OP universe there are these messanger birds that travel across the Grand Line and around the sea that sell newspapers about events happening across the globe. Since the crew got the Merry, Nami has been getting the paper from time to time while out at sea during filler moments of the story. The point was to fill in any loose gaps in the story as to the events that would take place while they're traveling out at sea. Of couse these are things that 4Kids seems to keep out for some odd reason.

Actually, re-watching the episode, I noticed that Vivi said Igraham gave her a second compass to take with her after Luffy broke the one Miss Sunday gave them. So I guess that's 4Kids excuse for where she got it from.

Thanks for clearing me in about the messanger bird Nin-Nin69. 4Kids should at least know not to cut out plot important stuff like that, but I guess that logic went out the window when they started cutting entire arcs.

When I listen to sanji's voice he kind of sounds like Bullwinkle from rocky and Bullwinkle but with a deeper voice. Yes and it is true; you can't hear one thing he say's his voice is too deep.

The next trip to the Butcher shop should be Chopper's flashback.

I wonder if they'll cut out Chopper's human form?

"Aww, hey wook at the wittle guyyyAUUUUGHHHHH!!!"
    That should kill plushie sales.

No matter how good Robin's voice sounds, the accent is just......urgh...its hard to take her seriously......and she's probably the most serious character in the series.
