4Kids to be appearing at Anime Next.

According to Anime Next's schedule, 4Kids Entertainment will be hvaing a panet set up on Saturday. Another panel set up by them in the One Piece Panel. I managed to talk to Mike Pollock in regards to this, and he mentions the information is accurate. He stated that none of the representatives will be at the panal, except one staff member, including many VAs, Including Mike Pollock.

If anyone doubts this information, you may contacted Mike Pollock himself.

I Mike even in One Piece? I don't think I've heard him.

Darison is gonna be there. I hope they don't maul him. He's the only thing that dub has going for it.

Someone needs to ask about the progress on uncut One Piece and perhaps how many episodes of the edited version have been recorded. Of course since they all record just pieces it's rare that a VA knows how much of the series is complete at the time. But I guess they could at least say how far they've personally dubbed with their character/s.

Someone should also ask them if how they feel about their lines in the dub. If they find them funny, stupid, strange or some or all of the above.

But beyond all that...

Who the heck does 4kids think they are? Going to an anime con with their garbage... it's just insulting. If they are gonna pretend to be a respectible anime company then they ought to put efforts towards being one and having a few uncut releases doesn't cut it (especially when they delay them).

I must admit though, after reading this, to having a flashback to reading this when another hated company called Funimation decided to stick their necks out at Anime Expo '00......

However at that one Gen Fukunaga was with them...

I've actually envisioned this scenario countless times in my head. Not that I endorse it, but... you know, could it happen?

Interesting to see them finally poking their heads into the fandom, although it had to happen eventually.

Well, it's important that anyone going to the panel tries to be critical, but I hope that 4Kids also gets some gratitude for making an appearance like this. It would be nice if this wasn't their last.

I'm not too happy about them attending, either. I rather have some Bandai people attending. But I guess since 4Kids people are closer (and cheaper to get to attend), they get them first. -__-
