Enhance Your Power - Gundam SEED Destiny Talkback, Part 4 (SPOILERS!)

(FYI--I'm just putting this in spoilers even though it's mostly my own opinions in case there's anything in here I'm not supposed to be giving away.

-Personally, I see Shinn as turning into a major Annakin-esque character, as people have said earlier. Particular in 31, he just seems far too cocky about his own power, and his expressions have been growing darker and darker.
-I won't beleive that Stellar's dead completely until I see the episode for certain, and even then I'm suspicious of her pulling a back-from-the-dead later on. Actually, I kinda hope not, if only to make my theory below more meaningful.

My Theory:

Of course, I doubt this will ever happen, but I had a dream about the end of Destiny one night where Shinn is standing against Athrun, with Cagalli behind him and Kira & Lacus off to the side. Shinn is all pissed and wants revege blah-blah-blah. Anyways, something sets him off and he fires...but at the last minute, Cagalli steps in front and takes the bullet for Athrun. She's not killed, but badly wounded (shot in the stomach, or something like that). Cagalli and Athrun have a little "we'll always protect each other" moment--like they'd promised one another back in SEED 48--and Shinn freezes, remembering his own promise to protect Stellar. He sees himself in Athrun and Stellar in Cagalli and the like...and he finally breaks down.


...like I said, probably won't happen, but it would be an awesome direction to take the story in, wouldn't it?

Destroy Gundam fits to a T. Sheilded, shielded Dragoon system, lasers up the ying yang, 4 cannons......Dang, it took out that city, quick. Kira has finally met his match! Finally!

Very nice pre-battle build up.

Nothing from the Clyne faction yet.

Gladys is increasingly 'impotent' and sidelined by Gil's agenda. She is losing operational control of her ship. Is this Gilbert's revenge or just the s*** rolling downhill?

Cagalli, among friends, is better than her old self. Will she fight?

Kira has doubts again, though when has Kira not had doubts?

Athrun is increasingly in over his head. When does he jump ship?

With Gilbert's encouragement, Shin is a self-righteous, creepy, insolent nut job. So does this make him the Char to Kira's Camille?

I would love it if at that point

He just snaps, goes comeplely insane and begins to bring about the end of everything, not being tied to any aliance, he begins an en-massive tour de-force, more or less emulating Destroy's little bout of fun, maybe even going as far as to begin bringing down collonies and recerating the disasters shown in ep 7. That would make an excelent round turn.

That would make for a good reasion for _That_ to happen

I come bearing some more synopsis for 34 to 36.

Phase 34 : Nightmare
Using a beautiful speech, the chancellor gains control of PLANT. He later gave order to Minerva to deal with Archangel. Minerva, taking the advantage that the AA is under pursuit by ZAFT forces, meets the AA on the battlefield. Talia then tries diplomatically to talk AA into surrender.

Phase 35 : Before the Chaos
Shinn finally defeated his greatest enemy. Athrun, unable to conceal his feeling, beats Shinn up. But faced with Rey's argument that "Shinn was only trying to accomplished his mission.", he has nothing to answer for his action. Burdened with mixed feeling, Minerva arrived at Gibraltar. Shinn and Athrun was summoned by the chancellor who had arrived on Earth bearing a gift to the both of them......

Phase 36 : Athrun's Defection
Jirbil, being reprimanded by LOGOs, left heavy hearted for Heaven Base in Iceland which ZAFT is preparing invasion for. Athrun, understanding the Chancellor's true intention, prepares for a defection to the AA. But he was caught doing so and was rescued by somebody he least expected.....

I think if anyone is going to smarten up Shin, it'll be Kira. They've been hitting us over the head with a connection between Shin and Athrun since the show started but all Athrun has managed to do has been a sometimes mentor and now Shin is drunk on his success and pampering and is instead talking down to Athrun. Whilst Shin has Athrun's drive for 'justice' and fighting back, I think his key emotions of wanting to protect people go back to how Kira is. Athrun's tried to teach Shin how to use his power wisely but Kira is more versed in that lesson, mostly due to Flay. He probably still believes what Flay said about how he's responsible for her father's death, plus it was him going to check on Flay that got her killed by Rau. With seen from his argument with Athrun that this is a slightly different Kira, one with more spine. If he has to beat the truth into Shin to straighten him out, he'll do it.

Certainly some interesting developments. Shinn is slowly becoming a real prick. I suspect Athrun will be the one to bring him back down to Earth. The Destroy gundam is certainly a beast. It's the big Zam and Pyscho Gundam combined into one powerful mobile Armor.

From the summaries up to 36, it doesn't appear I'll start liking him any time soon. Like I said earlier, I'm glad Athrun is 'wising up'.

Well, I think Athrun is leaving ZAFT for the same reasons, I think his reason is slightly different then 'killing because it was their mission'. I think the reason's because he didn't/doesn't like the direction leadership (his father/Gilbert) was/is taking. He did come to the understanding that the war would not end with the mind set the soliders were/are in. Shooting at someone because you were shot at or because you are ordered to, won't bring an end to anything.
