On-topic...lets see here...sounds like Shin gets in trouble but is going to get out of it again if the Minerva decides it needs him to deal with the Destroy/Colossus Gundam. If it were me I'd pull a Captain Bright, slap Shin, throw him in the brig and assign Athrun to the Impulse to send the message that Shin is not indispensible or absolved from punishment merely due to status as an "ace pilot", but I suppose I should know better than to realistically expect it. Either way Shin's definitely set up to reap what he sowed when he discovers Stellar is the one piloting the thing. Certainly emotional cost will be involved, as well as how strictly the military views the situation. At worst Shin could receive part of the blame for Destroy's rampage, and at best there's still the fact that the simple act of aiding the enemy was enough for severe punishment in the first place. I feel for him if only because of the difficult situation he's headed for.
1. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll find a way to pin it all on the Freedom and the Archangel.
2. Ah, that is why Captain Bright is truly the greatest of all Gundam captains.
3. Shinn deserves whats coming, although it probably pushes him towards Lunamaria and I'd preferred an Athrun + Lunamaria thing. I guess he stays with Meer. I find it hard now or any time soon that he will go back to Cagalli's side.
Talia was certain he was goign to get a hefty punishment, but for some reason, Gil absolved him and Rey of all crimes, and told them to proceeed as scheduled.
Shinn didn`t seem worried about it too. When he got out of jail, he was basically, "Me>>Joo" to Athrun.
"Looks like someone higher up recognizes my skills. So much for your "justice"."- is basically what Shinn said to him at the end.
That`s right Shinn, become the pawn of the emperor, driven by anger.. Rey will probably be right by his side in his fall.
Speaking of Rey, he`s become quite the charachter in the last few eps by actually talking. We actually know stuff about him now.

"Is this the power of those who fought at Jachin Due?"
It would all depend on whose main character aura was stronger. Since Athrun has been a main character in both series so far, Athrun wins unless Shinn goes into berserker SEED mode, in which case I don't think any force on Earth could stop him, except for maybe Kira.
In SEED: Rau > Yzak > Athrun > Kira
(The only reason Yzak always got beat was because he has the Archetype Gundam and he can't activate the seed yet he took two EA Mobile suits, Raider and Forbidden)
In SEED Destiny: Kira > Athrun > Shinn

In SEED's later episodes, everytime Athrun and Kira fought against the druggies(which I may add, are in all ways superior to Destiny's ones) it was always Athrun that got the bigger piece of the action, he clearly showed to be a step up from Kira, and saved him many times in battle.
I think the reason Kira is so god-like in Destiny is because he "truly awakened" after Fllay's death. He is currently the only one with the full manifestation of the SEED mode.
I just watched ep 31 and something bothers me. I thought some of the characters looke slightly different. Is it just me or was there really some graphical difference?
Well, you think people would put 2 and 2 together by now. He hasn't posted a Destiny review since the Jerry Chu interview was put up. That should set off a light bulb somewhere in the heads of people who keep pestering him to do more. Chris really shouldn't have to say anything, much less tell fans repeatedly to stop demanding (not requesting or asking nicely, but demanding) reviews. Anime fans just make themselves look bad when they complain about not getting free stuff.
Working at GOUF, I get a pretty clear view of what most of the English speaking fandom are like. They're immature and selfish kids who think Bandai and the major fansites owe them something, regardless of the fact they're going to download as much anime and manga for free as possible, buy obvious bootlegs off eBay and the like just to save a few dollars and send nasty, demanding e-mails.
At the same time though, most fans (mainly us older ones) don't care for Mr Chu. The guy has to be the worst rep in history, believing that his title should somehow make people like him and that he's free to talk down to the people who in effect put dinner on his table. I very much doubt people's dislike of Chu and the MAHQ Destiny policy are connected, but I can't say I blame anyone who's not a fan of his.
Wow, that was a quick turn around, now thousands are dead. What will Shinn think when he finds out what trying to save Stellar, has done. Either way you look at the situation now, it has and is, going to all end up terrible.
It'll be interesting to see how the Destroy gets handled and how it'll be neutralized, and by who.
Impulse has gotten it's leg ripped off, a backpack destroyed, and has gotten a bunch of hits to its armor.
The only one that could even hit Savior was God, aka Freedom.
And you people complained you didnt see enough Blast Impulse, I guess now you'll see it even less.
And yes that is true, but remember the Saviour has only engaged the Chaos (oh wow, that isnt very impressive you know) while Shinn has gotten huge mobile armors trying to bite him in the back and has fought the Abyss in its main territory, the sea.
Athrun would be a lot better if he didnt say "Damn..." and start thinking about a lot of dramatic points everytime he was in a Mobile Suit battle or was put into focus.

True, but we also have to remember the battles and performance that the two were in:
Savior- Never used those big shoulder cannons even ONCE.
In battle:
Did basically nothing but:
Shoot at windams/Chaos
Transform & Fly
Transform again & shoot
repeat
two exceptions: Slicing that MA in ep 18 up. Holding off freedom in 28.
Impulse was put through the gauntlet on several numbers of occasions. the Savior wasn`t pushed nearly as far.
I have to admit, as much of a selfish jerk he is, Shinn was halfway right about Obi wa...Athrun`s performance as of late, he really hasn`t done as much as Shinn. I would go as far as saying he seemed a lot stronger in the Zaku.

The thing is that Shinn goes in full-force and just plows through everything. Athrun, even in SEED, preferred to fight by reaction or by caution rather than going all out.
Also remember that Athrun's brain has been buzzing with all sorts of questions and trying to think of what to do (really, Athrun hasn't had a clear head since Episode 1), while all Shinn basically thinks about on the battlefield is "All non-Minerva ships MUST DIE! THEY WORK WITH ATHHA!!!!!!!!!"
Spubman: Defender of the Way of the Spub's Thingy of the Time Being:
Anime: Miso Soup for the Soul
Shinn's battles are ovverrated. The first seedmode all he did was slice up some boats that were pretty much defenseless (aside from the guns they have that they never use cause of Shinn's overbearing main character aura)
If you put Athrun and Shin in two Zakus or any identical pair of MS, Athrun wins. When Shin goes unhinged he's incredible, but in a normal state he's done nothing to suggest to me that he outstrips Kira or Athrun in piloting ability. I remember in Gundam SEED how Kira would lay waste to the enemy with his impressive reactions and adaptability, and often unorthodox battle strategems--who thinks to charge in headlong and dislodge one's shield at such a place and moment so it will smash into and subsequently destroy an approaching enemy as you pass by? Kira did, just cause he's awesome like that.
But the question is Athrun vs. Shin...I said this before but I still maintain that Athrun is stronger since he is the only one who thought Kira to a stalemate with all other factors being equal. Case example being Gundam Seed episode 30, Strike vs. Aegis, with both of them going all out in "Seed mode." As brutal as Shin can be I'm not yet convinced he can defeat Kira. And just in general, I think that while Shin has moments of glory I think that overall Athrun and Kira are consistenly better pilots.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
In any normal situation, Athrun all the way. But Athrun in Destiny has been..well, he just sucks. He keeps the enemies at bay but he hasn't kicked any major ass. At all. That and after being Kira's equal in Seed, he gets shredded by Savior in Destiny. His mind is too clouded. Shinn has raw emotion and his Raging Seed mode going for him.
No one can Beat Kira, however. At least no one yet. I suspect either a ubre powerful Suit, a Newtype/SEED or the combo of the 2 will truely give Kira a run for his money

That's for sure.. and i'm starting to think Kira is a Newtype/SEED.. in one of the episodes it appeared like he sensed Mwu or the Phantom Pain or whatever.

Heh, try a Newtype/Ultimate Coordinator/SEED/Extended with uber powerful suit...and they would have to catch him when Kira isn't SEEDed.
Alright, alright, he's not THAT unbeatable. It's just that he's being treated like a god in this series, and I want someone to give him a run for his money for once!
Athrun's a good pilot but he never does jack in Saviour. Here's the breakdown of what he's done with Saviour for most of the battles:
-Launch
-Transform into (for lack of a better term) Waverider mode.
-Shoot at things in Waverider mode.
-Transform.
-Shoot beam rifle at various targets.
-Transform again.
-So on and so forth.
-For the rare occasion replace Freedom taking out it's beam sabers from SEED Episode 38 and replace them with Saviour for Destiny Episode 18.
-And for the good occasion, have him use his super cannons that the Saviour is equipped but in the end not put them to good use.
