    Phase 31: (highlight to read)
    Lots of interesting conversations.....need....subs....

    Destroy finally kicks into gear, and kicks many asses. Many. Jeez, that thing already destroyed (it's hard not to use this word...) a whole city, and it's barely started!

    Next Episode: Stellar (Am I an awesome translator or what?)

    This will be the fateful battle...Freedom vs. Destroy...with Impulse on the sidelines (well, at least after he finds out it's Stellar in there).

    Note: I actually did use *****

    Spoiler:

    - The truth behind Heine's death has been revealed!!!! Athrun has come to the "logic" side!

    - Wooo, Cagalli saying something of worth at last!

    - Destroy G.U.N.D.Am .... it was Djibril wasnt it? Awesome cockpit though.

    - More chess metaphor scenes.

    - That Destroy can really destroy......what?! It even has an I-field. Such a horrible massacre. ******* Alliance. And you called the Freedom cheap.

    - The fight between ZAFT, Archangel and the Destroy will probably make eps. 28 look like one SEED's first episodes. Hopefully anyway.

    - Shinn continues to be *******. >_<

    - From the previews it seems Sting will not get through this one. If I remember correctly, Stellar dies by the end of 32 as well.

    Preview for 32 is up too: http://mbs.jp/gundamseed-d/bb/gundamss32_mackatta.ram

    G.U.N.D.Am acronym --> http://img152.echo.cx/img152/7507/gundam4me.jpg

    Also, the red and grey Gundam that appears at the 3rd ending is a remake of the Providence and not the actual Gaia itself.

    After watching 31:
    Spoiler:
    Can Shinn be anymore of a SOB? "I did it to protect her." He's such an arrogant little....*takes a deep breath* Suffice to say, his attitude did nothing but piss me off.

    On the plus side, thank God Athrun finally said what really happened to Heine, Stellar killed him. At least he's no longer deluding himself there and saying that Freedom was responsible for it.

    Cagalli had a good moment with the Orb soilders.

    We get a fanservice shot of Neo...um...Mu (without his helmet)

    Like I figured, Destroy goes and indiscrimently kills everyone in that Russian town. An extremely powerful weapon indeed.

    Next episode...I hope Shinn realizes the stupidity in his actions, but I'm sure that won't happen because Shinn never sees anything wrong in what he does, it's always someone else's fault.

    Hey, I've finally caught thefirst10 episodes and ratherthan resurecting old threads, I thought I'd talk here, if that's okay.

    Firstly, I'm not a fan of the Impulse Gundam, partially because it's a combining unit, but also beacuse it just looks flimsy to me when it's all in one piece, for some reason.

    Shinn needs to stop carting that phone around...he's getting a sister complex, which is ot a good idea when they're dead. Plus I haven't seen later episodes, but I hope someone tells him to "Get a grip". He's agressive EMO, saves Athuran once and...well so far that's it.

    Cagalli although others have complained about her, so far her actions haven't bothered me and the engagement (I'm guessing Athuran proposed, with the ring thing and all) was a very cute scene. I don't like her outfits though, they've seemed to have toned down a lot, the same way her pesona has been tamed somewhat.

    Athuran is the man so far. I iiked the in-car chat to Kira, it let you see that he's thinking things through rather than acting blindly. He was really standoffish with Mia on their meal though. Granted she isn't Lacus, but he could have at least answered a question or two. Granted that he was pre-occupied with thoughts about Saviour.

    I really feel sorry for Mia though, her whole ethos of pretending to be someone else, because although she's 'useless and unwanted' everyone needs Lacus. Poor girl.

    Did you notice that Kira and Lacus were not in the same bed? Now when you consider his relationship with Fllay, it strikes me that this relationship is nowhere near the level that the marketing and OPs and EDs would have us believe. Kira seems like a caged tiger at the moment, wanting to act, but stopping himself. I suppose they can't use all of the big guns right off the bat though.

    As for Gilbert and Jibril...Jibril is a Dr Evil, James Bond villain wannabe, but still interesting. Gilbert, although he doesseem to be too good to be true, I kind of like him, it all seemsto have gone pear-shaped so far, but he's a good manipulator, so hopefully he'll work things out. He does stare at some of the pilots (Athuran and Rey in particular) rather disconcertingly. Either like he want's a piece of them, or he's trying to read them like a book.

    By the way, it's been extreemly fast paced so far, does it continue with the current momentum, or does it sag. Either way, so far I'm highly impressed.

    I'll refran for giving you my full opinion on Shinn, but I think it's enough to say he hasn't changed since the first episode (personality-wise).

    He's still the man, except something happens in episode 28 that forces him down a peg or two.

    It's still moving as fast as ever, except for a couple flashback episodes.

    Does anyone know if there is an actual patern for the italian numbers in the Gundam foreheads?

    Duel = Uno
    Saviour = Tre
    Chaos = Quattro
    Impulse = Sei
    Gaia = Otto
    Freedom = Dieci
    Providence = Undici

    That's all I recall right now.

    And on a completely different note, it seems like today is GWOtaku's birthday, so happy birthday and hope you enjoy yourself on this day!

    Well yey for it still being fast-paced! Oh well, good job I don't have acess to #28 then, so I can keep Athuran in high regards for a couple of years while I wait for the dub to come over here. And Shinn, oh well, if I like Gilbert, I've got to have a character in the show I don't particularly like, it might as well be him.

    And by the way Happy Birthday GWOtaku!

    Well, you think people would put 2 and 2 together by now. He hasn't posted a Destiny review since the Jerry Chu interview was put up. That should set off a light bulb somewhere in the heads of people who keep pestering him to do more. Chris really shouldn't have to say anything, much less tell fans repeatedly to stop demanding (not requesting or asking nicely, but demanding) reviews. Anime fans just make themselves look bad when they complain about not getting free stuff.

    Would this happen to involve Cagalli and a 5 letter word starting with d and ending with h? BTW I only have 1-20 episodes lol. 56K modem What episode does everybody get new gundams?(Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice, Destiny) And based on the reviews for 21-30, I think Gilbert has issues...I'm starting to see Le Creuset v. 2. Just finished watching original seed yesterday

    1. No, they don't die. Don't jinx them!

    2. So far they still havent acquired their new suits, about 5 episodes I'd say.

    3. Nah, Gilbert isnt like Rau in any way.

    Some people say it has to do with the order in which the gundams we're created (Duel was the first one built back in SEED's first Gundam wave, I don't know about the rest.)

    BTW, great avatar. I didn't even realize that likeness in Rey's name until now.

    Happy Birthday GWOtaku!

    Whoa...birthday greetings waiting for me in the topic! Quite the surprise. Also got a PM from Youko Recca, which was great. Many thanks to the well wishers. HellCat, your present I will surely save for an appropiate occasion. 23 years of age is a rather random number but today (well I should say yesterday at this point) was quite memorable, particuarly because my sister also got married today up here in gorgeous Cape Cod. Incidentally I haven't had much chance to watch 31 or do much online in general, but that won't last too long now--Sounds like a hell of an episode.

    I'll also take a short moment to extend general thanks to Duke for serving us yet another amazing thread, complete with a side of humor at the end. Truly priceless.

    On-topic...lets see here...sounds like Shin gets in trouble but is going to get out of it again if the Minerva decides it needs him to deal with the Destroy/Colossus Gundam. If it were me I'd pull a Captain Bright, slap Shin, throw him in the brig and assign Athrun to the Impulse to send the message that Shin is not indispensible or absolved from punishment merely due to status as an "ace pilot", but I suppose I should know better than to realistically expect it. Either way Shin's definitely set up to reap what he sowed when he discovers Stellar is the one piloting the thing. Certainly emotional cost will be involved, as well as how strictly the military views the situation. At worst Shin could receive part of the blame for Destroy's rampage, and at best there's still the fact that the simple act of aiding the enemy was enough for severe punishment in the first place. I feel for him if only because of the difficult situation he's headed for.

    With the practical quota over with, I'll once again extend thanks to everyone & sign off.
    I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson

    I agree with everybody that Shin in the episode was a dousche. The smirk on his face at the end of the episode topped it off. Sadly this will fuel the ire of the ever growing Shin-hater community and I don't blame them anymore, but this is not good for his character. I do like however that Rey is now getting some character development. The first 20 episodes we saw him as merely the loner type that seldom if ever speaks, now these episodes showcase some character that we had yet to see beforehand.

    I can't really blame Neo for breaking his promise, but what is he to do when he is under the eye of an important person like Djibril. However the Destroy destroy-ing the city was rather intense. Somebody will have to pull off a miracle if they want to defeat that thing. However the next episode previews irk me.

    So is it just Impulse vs. Freedom vs. Destroy for the most part? It seems in the extended sponsor preview that Athrun and Lunamaria won't be joining them, and there does not seem to be any other mobile suits that were shown. Will some of the Orb defectors join the fight as well? Or is it merely just those two MS fighting it off? I'd expect a much bigger battle than what I am seeing in the preview.

    And another thing, the scan of a previous magazine showed the Destroy in Berlin. Damn you production people of either the magazine or the anime. Show where it's going to really attack not tease us with the Destroy trampling over the Brandenburg Gate!

    Like all the rest a happy birthday is in order to GWOtaku as well.

    Oh my effing God...

    Destroy is SERIOUSLY overpowered.

    For comparison sake, Destroy's armaments compared to the two UC machines it is often compared to, MSG's Big Zam and Zeta's Psyco Gundam Mk. II (because frankly, the first one wouldn't even compare).

    I guess it has to compensate for having such a...pedestrian name.

    The methods and aftermath of a job are important.
