Hunter X Hunter the manga is on the way! As well as Jojo's Bizzare Adventure and Eyeshield 21. Rejoice manga and Jump fans! Hopefully it wont be too long before the anime of HxH comes stateside.

    O_O

Wow. I'm surprised that Anime News Network hasn't reported on this. Then again, they tend to base their news on official press releases, which is perfectly reasonable.

    Still...

Wow. Viz continues to rock my manga world. It's gonna take them a LONG time to release Jojo's Bizarre Adventure though. Isn't there like 5-7 different series, each of them featuring a different Jojo in a different time?

    Oh sweet Jesus, thank you!

I have been wanting an official english version of HxH for so many years, it's not even funny.

Finally my one and only favorite shonen manga can be owned and flaunted about. ^___^

Thanks for making my day, Sensei.

Nice. Now I can see what everyone is always so excited about.

Viz was the one who licensed it, right? Think we'll see it in SJ?

Hopefully we will. Honestly I'd be in favor of them kicking YYH out of the mag to add HxH.

I'd rather they get rid of DBZ. It's the only one I don't read. But I could see them removing YYH. Isn't that and HxH drawn by the same guy?

    Yep.

    Yoshihiro Togashi.

While I don't care for YYH that much, he created quite a gem with Hunter x Hunter.

Personally, I find the YYH anime to be better than the manga, but it's probably just the dated artwork in the manga.

Yeah, Shonen Jump needs to take something out in order to start publishing new series. Naruto and One Piece aren't going anywhere, and neither is Shaman King. Hikaru No Go was the last manga they added. So, really, the only mangas left are Yu-Gi-Oh!, DBZ, and Yu Yu Hakusho. As much I'd LOVE to see Yu-Gi-Oh! (which is consistently the weakest manga in the entire lineup) taken out, that simply isn't going to happen, since I suspect that a large number of their sales from kids who look at the cover, see Yugi on it, and therefore HAVE to buy it.

    BUT!

In the most recent issue of Shonen Jump, Yu-Gi-Oh! was missing. SJ said that it would return next month, and that supposedly it was finally getting into the full-out card game storylines. Still, it's interesting to see that they experimented with not having Yu-Gi-Oh! in the mag.

My best guess is that they'll probably get rid of DBZ. They're just about to wrap up the Cell Games storyline (Gohan just went SSJ2), while YYH has just started their Dark Tournament storyline. I suppose we'll just have to see.

For those that didn't get the memo, apparently they're skipping ahead to the Ancient Egypt Arc In other words, no Duelist Kingdom and no Battle City

    ...I've got nothing.

Wow. I made this topic like...awhile back and got about.....one responce. This is kinda old.

Despite that it's good news either way. I know people are worrying over JJBA's treatment for some reason. Hunter x Hunter is GUARANTEED to be collected by me. Eyeshield 21 I might collect aswell.

JoJo's is quite a bit more adult than the shounen titles most people associate with Viz, and is probably generating worries over censorship. I think such worrying is pretty groundless, though... Viz has dealt with extremely adult manga before, and I seriously doubt they intend to push JoJo's in Shounen Jump. I expect they'll do their best to respect JoJo's for the classic that it is.

I don't think any of those titles will go in the SJ magazine. The release dates are March/April. There won't be enough chapters to put in the graphic novel format by that time. And so far in the latest preview describing the Feb Vol 3 # 2 issue (released in January). No new series has been put in and no old one has been taken out. So I think they will just be put into graphic novel format like Bleach.

Personally I wish YYH was taken out of the magazine and released monthly like Rurouni Kenshin.
