Are Priss and Lenna from BGC2040 lesbians (spoilers) (P.G)
I've no intention of turning this into a homosexual bashing thread (or suppourtign thread) so anyone who may be thinking about doing that just stop right now and leave. This will be a thoughtful discusion.
Anyway, I'm just wondering cuz it seems that they fit the typical cliched steryotype of a lesbian couple (these are steryotypes not truths.) Priss being the tough amazon one (now that I think about it this would ne why she's so cold to Leon,) and Linna being the soft sensative one. However, I'm also aware that there's something in the Jappanese culture where two girls form a very close emotinal bonds, and to outsiders it may seem homo-erotic but it's just that the 2 people are passionate about their very platonic freindship.
But, it also seems that she seems kinda interested in Leon. Plus the fact that Lenna went on a date with her boss (I don't know if she considered it one though.)Oh well what do you guys think

Same-sex friendships in Japan are very intense, mostly because it's a sexually segregated society. So the social expectations of marriage mixed with boys and girls not having many hobbies in common... You get many yaoi/yuri{gay/lesbian} interpretations or lead-ons of close friendships in which the 2 characters really balance eachother out. Or something like Ranma 1/2, where the hero undergoes periodic sex changes and yet still remains "male" in all the romantic cliches. At the same time, his girl form does hang out with the girls and get harassed by boys... For many people, this does the same thing as yaoi and yuri.
The fact is, that a kids show with main open homosexual characters will probably be made for the US first.

Well, her first crush/love really was unrequited... And she's such a sweetie that she knew the whole time...
Sakura and Li's relationship is not unlike that theorized as existing between "Ash" and "Gary" if you really think about it.

Now I'm told--
--that in Japan men don't generally compliment women on their appearance, at least in public--reserved society and all. So is it the norm for women to do so about one another? I can see how that might be seen as sapphic....
