Previously on Cyborg 009, the woodland creatures attacked our cyborg heroes, not to mention zombies! After investigating they found out the attackers were controlled by strange talking animal doctors who were loosely connected to Black Ghost. With the doctors' equipment destroyed, the creations turned on their controllers. Will we see Black Ghost this week? Tune in to find out.

Whee, finally a good episode. Those fight scenes were exceptionally good, other than the fact that time slowed down every time they fired their missiles.

I did have one problem, though...they showed that same establishing shot of the castle like eight times.

That being said....good episode. Excellnt coreography for the fights in the castle. Good to know that 004 is more then a match for some cheap facimile. Plus, this finally washes the bad taste last weeks episode left in my mouth.

What did I JUST say? There's a reason they air these episodes (and .Hack//Twilights) at 1Am unpromoted, and it dosen't help anyone to mention "Oh look, 004 said this" or "Shugo ran into that!". Try not to mention it if you can, alright?

The episode itself was pretty good. I want to know who built the robot 004 and Dr. Gilmore though. Someone working for Black Ghost? I admitt I was half confused when 004 was fighting a robot him and then you had those scenes with Dr. Glimore flash by, but when it was revealed he was a robot duplicate, I was like "Okay, just explain where the robots came from and I"ll be good." I must say, this was a very good 004 Spotlight episode otherwise. Great fight scenes (this episode was very nicely animated compared to other episodes, like "Monster Island". I'm guessing they did so many shots of the castle to save on the animation budget. I don't mind), great reasoning of 004's character (Showing his humanity and soul on how he dosen't want to be just a machine or a weapon) and not to much use of other characters (003 and 009 and the REAL Dr. Gilmore make brief scenes at the beginning and end and 006 makes an appearence in a dream sequence) and I was also LOLing at the mention of 003's suggestion to get Dr. Gilmore a wife, and if 006 would be a good subsistute. Best episode since... Season One really. It edges out over 005's spotlight episode with it's superior animation.

Best episode since it started at this time. The drag thing wasn't as funny as "I wish I had your acceleration powers" or the punk ass aliens but proved comical after the hard fights for 004. Fight which was infact done pretty nicely. I almost laughed for some reason when the fake doctor was trying to hurt 004's self-esteem and it zooms out and you hear the gunshots. For a second I thought he killed him because he was becoming annoying and then you see the robot face lying dismantled. Overall a good one and worth staying up to view.

Looks like they're setting up the return of the Black Ghost group. Who else could make that robot?

1. Heh, 004's car license plate is "004 ----."

2. Ha! When I saw the enemy having the same lasergun, I immediately remembered about the staircase mirror, the video analysis, and the long scarf then thought it has to be a mimic of 004.

3. After all those explosions, where's the smoke coming from the castle?! None!

4. And here I thought 004 was just dreaming about Dr. Gillmore. Sure didn't expect another robot.

5. And here I was also wondering how the real Dr. Gillmore knew about the castle in the first place. At least they shed light that he didn't make that call.

yeah...I was getting flashbacks to both "army of Darkness" and the B:TAS episode "His Silicon soul" all through this episode



004: good, bad...I'm the guy with the missile launcher in his knee

and I knew something was amiss with that other Gilmore, I mean the guy that helped the cyborgs escape from Black ghost would never attempt to dissuade 004 from his humanity like that...and on a completely different level I just realized a horrible in-joke in the series, isn't cyborg 007 supposedly from England? and aren't his shapeshifting powers most often used in spying? think about that, an English cyborg spy with the designation 007..I wonder if he's named James...

and frankly I always expected 007 and 006 to do the whole "odd couple" thing

Anyway, with the actual episode, it seemed good. The concept of someone fighting their mechanical selves however has been overused. And it was pretty obvious that Android Dr. Gillmore was fake.

And I didn't get it until 004 blasted the hell out of him... I feel so stupid
