If sales are slowing on Pokemon merchandise, why are they spending more money to make a whole store full of it? It doesn't make much sense to me...I really don't think they're gonna gain anymore fans out of it...
Everybody wants to be a cat... >^..^<
Agreed, and what I was thinking....Originally posted by TuffyCatt

The Pokemon Center NYC is near Books Kinokuniya. I suspect that it's a similiar marketing strategy. It's still big in Japan, holds up retail locations in Osaka and Tokyo... Ashaiya Bookstore,, Books Off (used book store) and Sanrio have retail stores within walking distance of Rockefeller Center... Could possibly apply to the Disney Store on 56th and 5th, too... So, with Pokemon and TRU opening in close vicinity to my regular Japanese media places... WoooHooo!
Oh, and btw... I did go to the Times Square WBSS on its last day of business.... I never thought I'd see office supplies and light fixtures included in a closing sale...![]()
They were when the K-Mart--or as some might call it, redneck Mecca--off Highway 18 shut down some ten or so years past. Anything that wasn't nailed down or on fire, and a few that were, was up for grabs. Folks gutted the warehouse like buzzards on a dead wildebeest....ROCKY:

WHOAWHOAWHOAWHOA............
OK lets get this straight...They close down all the WB Studio Stores....and then they open a Pokemon store in thier place.........?
Can someone find the logic in this cause I just dont see it?

Funny how the logic seems just like the same one Ross Perot used in his run for President.
(I'm in the race, no, I'm out. No, I'm in again. Did I say I'm in? I'm out)
Why Brain? What do we want to do tomorrow night? Throw a slumber party?
In their place? Not exactly. WBSS 57th has a new tenant, some name clothes designer... WBSS 42nd is still vacant. And the Sanrio down the street is still open. Do you think it's the cause of it closing down? What about the soon-to-open Toys R Us just 3 blocks up from it?
I'm telling you, Nintendo's probably going to keep 'em in places like Rockefeller Center and maybe San Francisco... The Japanese market is really what seems to be pursued. If it wasn't, one of the vacant WBSS spots might've been snatched up. It's really akin to the Books Kinokuniya branch across the street from it.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys but, isn't Pokemon loosing it's popularity here in the states and they're going to open a Pokemon store at Rockefeller Center?
Haven't us New Yorkers been through enough torture already![]()

And we need this crap...And also in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a brand new Pikachoo(is that how the name is spelled?) giant balloon will appear for the 75th anniversary event.
GOOD GRIEF !!!!!
THE YEAR OF "KRAZY KAT"
Nelson aka MOE HARE
But it's still big in Japan, number one. Number two, the Japanese equivalent of Barnes and Noble seems to be doing well across the street from the Pokemon Center. Add that in with the remaining US fanbase and it's not all that bad. I think a San Francisco one could work too.Originally posted by Nelson

Ay-yi-yi-yi!
Why, Pokemon...you're just making yourself lose dignity faster...I'm betting ya even with all the Poke fans here in America this store is still gonna have a tough time.
So Macy's celebrating with Pikachu in a way to boosy? I'm tempted to say the classic 'shocking' pun, but I won't.![]()
Signature. A noun. It is, in internet terms, a series of words, phrases, and pictures at the end of every post used to make posts more fun to look at and show the user's uniqueness.
