As said, it happens alot in Gundam. Random examples would be Bernie/Chris and Kou/Nina (hey, she was kind of torn between him and the EF and Gato and Zeon)
Another example I can think of is that bridge officer and the Jovian pilot from Nadesico.

Uh...I think Lady Poison and Ban from Get Backers were sort of enemies. Then there is Raiha and Fuuko from Flame of Recca, and that love triangle between Spike, Julia, and Vicous in Cowboy Bebop.
