The BAAs seem to have had a number of categories which were used once or twice and then dropped. Since I don't want to clutter the Wiki up with too many articles about obscure awards, I've decided to - where possible - conflate the short-lived categories with longer-lasting ones.

Here I figured I may as well cover the Mari Kuttna Award for Best Newcomer/Directorial Debut - which was only handed out twice - with the Best Student Film award; the BAA people seem to have seen them as roughly interchangable since 1996 after all.
