Yes, it's officially part of the canon now. It should be included.

Is there any particular reason we shouldn't?

Probably because they're CGI dinosaurs and not cartoons like the other characters.

Well, just because it's a new addition and a bit shaky - right now Wikipedia has it in an unnumbered slot between 38 and 39. Should we do the same, or reorder the numbers?

Well I guess the questions you should be asking are...

A: What does it mean for a movie to be part of the "Disney Canon"?

B: What are the requirements that a movie must meet before it can be bestowed with such an honour? Why does Lady and The Tramp qualify and not say... one of the Mickey Mouse Christmas specials?

    And finaly...

C: Does Dinosaur meet those criteria? And if not, why?

Disclaimer: I don't really care about Dinosaur one way or the other, I just think it would help discussion if we clarified our terms first.

According to Disney, it is canon. That's good enough for me. We should adhere to the official source.

Also, certainly CGI should count. If it doesn't, by what logic do we include Pixar on the Wiki? But clearly, of course, it would be silly not to.
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson

What criteria negates Victory Through Air Power from being included?

It's tricky because it's Disney themselves who decide what's canon or not. I don't know how much "canon" status depends on hard-and-fast qualifying criteria, and how much on marketability (a big reason why you won't be seeing Song of the South or Victory through Air Power in the company's canon any time soon).

But anyways... looks like we all agree that Dinosaur should be on the list. So where do we put it number-wise?

I recently had an idea to seperate the canon list into "eras". For instance, you have the original five films, (Golden Era, or what have you), the 90's renaissance, the Package Film Era, etc. These may not be official terms, but they are universally agreed upon and economically provable groupings. It would also allow me to put more info on the page. Any objections?

Hmm. I see no reason why not.

Hry... instead of making a bunch of new articles, I've been meaning to ask someone to change this articles name to something like; Filmography of Disney Animated Features; so I can include all of the Direct-toDVD and co-produced stuff.
