Warner and Fox: I want commentary! thread

    Like This Thread!
I love commentary, and I think the ones we have on the new discs are great but...

Post if you feel that the future releases of Family Guy, Aqua Teens, and Space Ghost Coast to Coast should have commentary on every episode. In my sick twisted logic, if you are going to listen to one, you are going to listen to them all anyway. I can't be the only one who wants to hear commentary on Bus of the Undead.

And despite popular belief, companies do care what customers online think, so don't feel that it is a waste of your time to post. The only other way to tell them what we want is to boycott the releases or buy two copies of the ones we really like, like Futurama. Both choices of which I'm not going to do.

As long as they avoid the suckage of the audio commentary for "Mayhem of the Mooninites". Really, three audio commentaries, and they wast about a third of one of them on an extended guitar solo?

And weren't we supposed to get deleted scenes?
    Now 20% cooler

As far as TV shows go, I always listen to every commentary. (Simpsons, KOTH- yes, even the awful character ones- Futurama, Aqua Teen, Space Ghost, Clerks, Family Guy) And while some are edited and some don't give as much behind the scenes info as I'd like, they're still entertaining. Keep 'em comin'! EDIT: Kryten, the deleted scenes are part of the easter eggs, which can be found in another thread. There aren't very many, but they are there nonetheless.

Yeah, I agree that was pointless, but the commentary for "Space Conflict" is very informative.

    =)

I liked the guitar solos. That's classic WS humor, if you ask me. =(

I thought the deleted scenes were great, too; its like they hid an entire alternate version of Leprachaupolis (that I actually thought was funnier than the finished episode). =(

But to the original post, I would agree. If every episode had commentary that would rule. =(

I can't talk about the Aqua Teen And Space Ghost Set (MUST GET AQUA TEEN DVD!!!!! WHY IS FATE SO CRUEL!!!!!!???) But I can see your point. I do have the 2 Family Guy DVDs (Season 1+2 and Season 3) and I think they should at least have commentary for half the episodes, not just two for DVD (A lot of them just BEG for commentary. You know which ones I'm talking about).

I'm glad everyone seems to agree.

After I made this post last night, I got a survey in my e-mail to fill out feedback for the Simpsons DVDs. I got to rank the special features, and I made sure they knew I liked commentary the best. I also told them I would like to be able to access all the Easter Eggs on the Playstation 2 and that they should include Tracy Ullman shorts. Hopefully other people that fill out the form will say the same thing.

If you want them that badly, go to adultswim.com and buy them. They're $29.99 each, which is a little more expensive than other places, but at least you know they'll have them. I got mine two days after I ordered them.

Family Guy did have a commentary recorded for each episode (and 2 for Road to Rhode Island) but I guess with 7-8 episodes per disc they couldn't cram em all in there.

I did, and couldn't find any. I think that God's toying with me in that sense. Oh well, this weekend's another weekend, right?

(And by the way, I am waiting to find it in a store, not online. I'm like that in that sense).

They should of had more Discs then or something. Seriously, I probably would have bought Season One and two sepreatley if they included more extra features in each set (and not just commentaries for all the episodes either. I mean like more animatics and other stuff like that).

Most of the FG commentaries were poor to begin with. I almost learned nothing about the show from behind the scenes. They even took many long pauses as if they didn't care about the commentary and just were there for a paycheck. And yes they could've cramed all of those commentaries in there. People don't believe it, but it's not too much of a hassle to fit in the audio for those. And FG wasn't that great of an animation to worry about quality. FOX pissed me off because of this and the 3 edits from the 1st Pack.

ATHF and SGC2C also were disapointing. Thats great that we got that song for that comentary, but only 3 commentaries and pulling a stunt like that isn't worth it. And why not have the whole Lepracaunis episode rather than clips? It seemed very stupid and was a waste to not show the whole thing. SGC2C had double the amount of commetaries, but lacked the real creators of the show from most of them and also made me tedious because they wanted the episodes to just end and not watch them. Once again about 1.2 hours on each disk and they could've fit all of that commentary.

One more thing, editing content from Commetaries is also stupid. Happy Tree Friends was a great example for this. It's a cartoon for MATURE AUDIENCES yet the people from Mondo tend to forget that kids won't buy the DVD's or even lissen to them talk about the show. There is a reason that the commentaries are unrated and if kids happen to watch them, they should be with an adult to supervise them. That doesn't mean the BS&P have to be the adult rather than their real folks.

"Oh well, this weekend's another weekend, right?"

In a blizzard?? Crazy. You could've asked your folks or your friends since your birthday's coming up.

"Most of the FG commentaries were poor to begin with. I almost learned nothing about the show from behind the scenes."

Some of them were informative like "Weinstein." and "Brian Wallows."

"They even took many long pauses as if they didn't care about the commentary and just were there for a paycheck."

From what I understand, that was because of legal reasons.

The South Park Season 1 DVD was supposed to have commentary but you had to order it online because Trey and Matt probably offended people with their commentary.

This is really something I planned on getting by myself. Besides, I already know what I'm getting (except from you of course) and I'm not asking for anything else from anyone.
