Despite being a Ban Dai game, it is actually quite good. A direct rip-off of Metal Gear solid, but a quality one nonetheless.

I can't believe I paid to import this, paid for the guide, and had my PS2 modded to play it.

Oh well, I got to play it 6+ months before everyone else here!

Yay! I've been hearing so many good reviews about this game. Now I can finally get it. I wonder if it will have the english dubbed voices. Oh well, I'll buy it anyway. (does happy dance)

Oh, little things like school, food, gas... they tend to get ignored when the video games start coming out like mad. With the stuff they revealed at E3, plus all the other stuff coming out, I'm gonna be hutin'

I've heard very mixed reviews on the PS2 game. Animerica Magazine gave it a one out of four (five?) stars, and one Lupin fan who played the import at E3 walked away from it. It's good to hear some positive feedback as well.

But the good news is, it WILL contain the "Lupin the Third Part II" English voice cast as used on Adult Swim.
No news yet on if it's Bilingual or not, like the ".hack//" games.

You can see the promotional E3 flyer for the game if you join the the Lupin Yahoo Group (linked in my sig), and peek into the "Files" section (maybe Photos, I can't recall). It's essentially an ad for the game and the Pioneer Lupin TV DVDs.

The release date is still kind of a mystery; many game sales websites have one of two late September dates, while the flyer says November of 2003 (or perhaps, November 3rd, it's written as simply 11/03).

Edit: And no, this is not a Bandai game. Bandai is domestically releasing it, and most likely handling the translation, etc. However, the game was developed by the Japanese company completely unrelated to Bandai (despite the name), Banpresto.
And no one here would be the first to be led on by the similar names.

That's a pleasant surprise. For some reason, I would have expected them to just hack together a random cast. I'm happy to see the current (and most established) cast.

Yep, I'm pretty happy about it, too.

I'd be even *happier* if Bandai released "Lupin the Third: Lost Treasure of the Sea" for GameCube after it comes out in Japan....*HINT HINT* Bandai....

Gotta love that anime-game stuff with voice acting.

I honestly enjoy the game quite a bit. I can't speak for the storyline, as I don't speak more than a few phases and words in japanese.

I get Bandai and Banpresto confused all the time. Just gotta remember "little black mask logo".

I would give all my fansubs to see the import guide translated.

Oh Gawd . I'm a huge Lupin Fan and this sounds great , but its strange that they would make a game over it . The vioence and action in the show is somewhat reduced to shows like Bebop and Trigun and the comedy reigns supreme . You never know it might turn out great since I've yet to see any screenies ! Its cool they're getting original english ( engrish ) voice cast for the game . It's weird since they made tons of Lupin arcade and even SNES like games in Japan like a remake of Castle Of Cagliostro and the like . Keep me posted .

Just another reason for me to get a PS2. But I am glad that companies are starting to relize that anime games other then DBZ, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! have a market here.
