actually, thats a pretty good idea. i would watch that.
it would be a fun change of pace for adult swim if they gathered a few flash animations from the internet for a half-hour special. such animations have seen an insane amount of popularity on the internet thanks to sites like www.newgrounds.com and weblogs. the format of the show would be a music video block, ala MTV. i think the humor of these videos bear a striking resemblance to williams street comedy, and i would say the same type of people appreciate both. also, think of how many internet nerds (such as myself) would be drawn into adult swim because of this special.
these videos are usually some funny or foreign/incomprehensible song accompanied by guessed subtitles, pop culture references, and other seizure-inducing visuals. try to imagine them in the context of adult swim when you watch them.
here are the videos i think would be prime candidates:
"We Drink Ritalin" - hitler and a floating head conduct a duet
"All Your Base" - everyone here has prob. seen it but i'm sure some a.s. watchers haven't
"Hatten ar din" - arabian music, swedish subtitles, 3 pictures.
"Mario Twins" - crude animation accompanies hilarious song, brings you back
"Xiaoxiao" - adult swim action?
also, i would imagine that a production like this would cost next to nothing to put together, if they keep it simple. what's more, it would represent internet culture.
"even though our names are bad and rad dupree, we still like school a lot, especially recess!"
"...and then it shoots at them, and causes an erosion, and a big golden ball with a ring around it..."

It recently dawned on me that my signature could be interpreted as being said by me. For the record, this was not the case. If the previous signature reduced your opinion of me, please increase your opinion. Thank you.
The majority of that stuff is music videos which wouldn't fit well except as intermediaries between shows. On the other side of it, CN would have to pay these people to air this stuff. Tracking them down, filtering through all of that for the good stuff, it'll take time and money. I'm sure there's plenty of funny stuff around like:
Lobster Magnet
Kinkkoman
Gonads and Strife
Nose Pilot
and plenty more...
The fact is that it just doesn't make sense from the network's stand point to go through and do this, especially when these things esentially become ads for the website their on. Why pay for what you can charge for?
plus that one hitler one suggested wouldn't work if they couldn't show that episode of Lupin.
i guess thats true, but man, it is just ridiculous. what more disrespect could one possibly show the man, than by placing his image in such a context? same goes for the lupin ep.plus that one hitler one suggested wouldn't work if they couldn't show that episode of Lupin.
this may be true for "all your base" because there were so many people involved in its creation, but i dont think it applies to the others. i'm sure the production values for these videos were all zero dollars, they were for the most part just created by some kid with macromedia flash and too much free time. thus, unless he's a real jerk, the creator would probably take any amount of money thrown his way, or maybe even none at all, that's what i'd do. i'd just be psyched to have my creation televised you know? well thats just my opinionOn the other side of it, CN would have to pay these people to air this stuff. Actually, that's not entirely true. It was Pioneer's decision not to release that episode. Cartoon Network had nothing to do with that.Originally posted by CheeseItGuys

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

it seemed like a good argument at the time
to see Animutations in between AS shows instead of those lame "not for air segments (ok they're not really that lame, but in comparison...) that would be cool
"found a hobo in my room"
