SirLemming prophesies: Yu Yu Hakusho Y7 edit list!

Well, it's time to abandon all hope... It looks like Yu Yu Hakusho will be in butchered form from now on (except for those of us who actually buy DVDs).
To give you an idea of what this means, let's take a look at what an edit list of Thursday's episode might look like on Toonami:


- Shot of Hiei slicing flying eye creature removed.
- Zombies carrying knives changed to sleepy (not dead) people carrying really, really (but not too) sharp toothpicks
- Zombies moaning "must kill" changed to "must hurt playfully"
- Kurama's "rose whip" changed to "rose jump-rope"
- Genbu's severed head digitally re-located to appear to be more or less on his body
- Yusuke's "I've heard of brass balls before, but this is ridiculous!" changed to "I've heard of Stone Cold before, but this is ridiculous!"
- Genbu's hypothalamus thing re-colored from red to black.


Also, for general reference, Yusuke's mother will now be a tea addict.

Hehe, that's hilarious. They have to get the toothpicks just right, maybe round off the end a little bit just in case they fall; ooh, I know! They could make the episode into a reminder of why not to run with scissors! At the end, they can trip and fall and have their head get cut off! Oh, wait, this is Toonami, I forgot. They get their head nonviolently cut off. ;]

The sad part is that it's not entirely impossible, either.

Funimation actually makes VERY good (humorous) edits...cant wait to see them, theyll turn Yuyu Hakusho into a comedy...

I really hope DVD Set Box 2 comes out soon... These new edits are unreal! I probably won't watch YYH on Toonami just because of that. I'll watch it only on DVD...

Oh, please. This is ludicrous.

The fighting animation in Yu Yu Hakusho is so dated that I doubt much of it will be editted at all. Only in specific places is there actually blood. Most of the time it's just this big red flash, which isn't blood but a symbol of pain being inflicted. And if CN is so scared of that, they can make it a white flash, like what WB did to Batman Beyond.

Perhaps you forgot what a good job FUNi did with Dragonball. Yeah, Yusuke's mom might not be a drunk anymore, but they still got away with a lot. I don't think Genbu's decapitation or the zombies will be changed. They might say "must destroy" or something.. or they might just say "must kill", because they say "kill" in Dragonball/Z, although for some reason, only half the time.

You may note that this is an "attempted humor" thread. It's not serious at all, I agree that most of it should still be intact, just not the blood or cursing.

Spirt Detective came out around the same time as the last volume in that set, so I predict that Dark Tournement will do the same..
