Cowboy Bebop: The Movie - Rated R

    Like This Thread!
Well it's final. The MPAA has given the CB movie an R rating for "some violent images."

    http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1808428290

So I guess this means the rumors about the movie being edited down to a PG-13 rating have been proven false. Hooray!

Yes, so in all 5 theatres that it shows, parents know not to take their kids.

I don't care, because I'm 17 tomorrow, and assuming I live near a theater they're showing it at, I can go see it.

It doesn't matter anyways. They let in toddlers into Jin-Roh and Ninja Scroll when its at the local theater. They think that all animation is for kids. Silly people.

I can't fathom the idea of children watching Jin-Roh. That movie couldn't even hold my 21 year old attention span.

Seriously. Anime is animation that's for kids, ranging from Digimon to La Blue Girl -.-;;. Or so they think.

I also turn 17 tomorrow. I just hope the movie plays in my area because I refuse* to go to New York City to see it.

I could just laugh since the DVD's are recommended for ages 13 and up, but hey I'm 18 I can see it without a parent.
But I do think an R rating is kinda crazy, but better it be unedited than edited

WOW, that REALLY comes as a surprise to me. I thought it would get a PG-13 for sure. Not that I'm angry or anything, but what the hell? I saw the Japanese version and it didn't seem bad at all. Did they change something?

    That's a tough choice.

    Spoilers

The R rating surprised me at first too.....have there been any PG-13 movies as violent as the Bebop one?

Then again, there *are* some violent scenes.......

    Spoiler:
The fight on the train with Vincent strangling Spike by his chest, then Vincent shoots Spike in the stomach and lets Spike fall into the water.
The final fight with Spike and Vincent in the Tokyo Tower

And of course, people might still be uppity about that whole "bio-terrorism" thing

im gunna shoot someone. any body wanna volunteer. Can anyone tell im mad right now? lol
if not, i am mad Ive seen all of the "some violent images" and quite frankly, they aren't that bad lol. The part where
    Spoiler:
vincent shoots spike on the train
isnt that bad! Theres a little blood, big deal! Theres no nudity, theres some fanservice though. hopefully they will re-evaluate their rating, or is there not a chance of them doing that? I don't think this is a good thing, because the film would have made much more money if it were PG-13, cause more poeple would be able ot see iot

I think that it would've gotten a PG-13 if it was an identical live-action movie. I think it got an R just to show that it's not for little kids.

I wonder if Adult Swim will be promoting it with its R rating?

[stupid question] When does the movie come out? [/stupid question]
The world's 225 richest people now have a combined wealth of $1 trillion. That's equal to the combined annual income of the world's 2.5 billion poorest people.

    Something to think about.

the storyline is fairly mature, and there may not be a lot of blood in the individual scenes, but combined the movie does have it's fair share of high violence(nothing like some of the other animies out there though) and yea, i guess the terorisim also gives them reason to slap a r on it. i just want to know if they plan on releaseing a special edition DVD or something like that for it.
